STARBUCKS Meicun Xiangshang Shop — Restaurant in Taichung

Usually Starbucks has good service and environment and I assume that is factored into the higher price relative to other cafes. However, on days where there is a buy 1 get 1 free deal the service suffers greatly. If I know there will be a deal on I won’t go to Starbucks because I pay more for the service and environment but if I wanted cheap coffee and poor service I would just go to any of the other cafes where that is expected.

I came to get a nitro coffee (which for whatever reason is not offered for about 4 months while the cold brew is still available) but the only table left available was dirty. I had to ask three times and wait almost 20 minutes (confirmed by the time of purchase on the receipt) and only had success when I lined up again and waited at the ordering counter to get the table wiped which only takes 15 seconds including the time to walk to the table and back to the counter. I had work to do and had to wait and keep asking and was made to feel like I was being a problem. Who wants to put their expensive iPad and laptop on a dirty table?

There were three staff on duty, surely someone could have spared 15 seconds, and if not, I suggest Starbucks considering staffing extra people on days when they know they will be busy with a buy 1 get 1 deal. After all, who is the target customer, the crowd that comes once in a while for a freebie or the customer who comes often for what should be better service and...
