Hanlin Tea House Tainan Chikan Shop — Restaurant in Tainan

tldr; horrible service, don’t come, they constantly try to kick you out of the store and act like we are bothering them (especially the female staff).

the minute we entered the store the woman behind the counter asked us if we wanted takeaway or to drink inside (there were price differences), which is normal, except she kept asking again and again during the purchase. We told her we just wanted a cup of milktea to takeaway. And as my companions was still stood reading the menu, I was checking out the decor of the shop, the woman continued to act passive aggressive, repeatedly stating that the area I was standing in was for customers who ate inside only (the store was empty except for our group, the seating area was quite literally next to the ordering counter). Also when my companion asked for clarification on the menu’s items she ignored us (literally walked away) and another staff only answered after we asked the third time.

After purchasing and receiving our drinks we lingered at the shop a bit so I could put my wallet away and take some photos of our drinks, she loudly told us to leave because we were takeaway customers. She acted as if every second we lingered in the store as takeaway customers she personally lost money, she treated us like loiterers for standing just a few minutes in their empty shop just because we wanted our drinks to go.

The shop remained empty throughout our entire experience, we spent an eternity of 20 minutes in the store (including time it took to pay and make the drinks), with the woman staff constantly telling...

We always visit this place every time we visit Taiwan. But the service has gone way down this time. No one checked on us after the food were served. We had to walk to the counter if there is something we need. With that kind of price we expect some service. We also request 2nd floor seating but was told no because there were still table available on the first floor. However, other customers were able to select table on the second floor without any issue. We believe we were told no because we have young children with us. This place is not kids friendly at all. Restroom have no changing table, but they did allow me to use the 3rd floor seating area for diapering. Most likely we will not return to this...

The shop was empty, woman clerk acted like we owed her money and kept trying to make us leave. For the price of 80 yuan per cup (takeaway) we couldn’t even sit on the vacant chairs in front of the ordering counter whilst we waited for our drinks, she told us no sitting in the store for takeaway, but we literally bought a drink and was only waiting for it, the store was empty i don’t understand who’s she saving the seats for.

I just read several other reviews and the majority of one star comments were about the service of that specific woman clerk, the owner really should do something because I’m pretty sure she’s the reason this famous store was so empty, she’s driven...
