IAM (In Australia Moment) — Restaurant in Tainan

Quite a letdown. Portion size was not where it should be for an Australian breakfast - small plate with quite a lot taken up by the yoghurt (I had the mini big brekkie). The bacon was not back bacon, as per tradition, and were quite small. The flavour was also lacking and they could do with a bit more time on the pan. Avocado that was advertised was a single, tiny slice of avocado rather than a whole or half as expected. Saw the patron’s plate next to me and the sausages were wieners, which don’t fit this type of breakfast at all. Mushrooms were cut up but lacking seasoning.

Toast was very flavourful, as was the yoghurt - that was a highlight. Condiments were great and the orange juice was also very tasty. Tomato was also well cooked and presented in a pleasing way.

For improvement, I would suggest the shop up the unit price to above 300 NTD and import authentic Cumberland style sausages and big rashers of back bacon. More quantity definitely needed, this won’t last me all day.

The staff, the food, the hours, and the location are all a win.The staff are incredibly helpful, and very unlike the empty-souled employees of many other cafes in the area. In a town full of food and hipster cafes, this place serves a quality breakfast at a great price. The coffee is of the calibre of the Tainan coffee scene. Also, it opens at 7 which makes the staff's attitude even more exemplary! It's not too far from the Chihkan Tower, where most people are conveniently staying. This is an Australian themed breakfast and lunch bistro. Opens at 7am. Care for a Big Brekkie? An OZ burger? They serve an amazingly good and authentic Western style crispy/salty bacon and eggs breakfast for $150nt. Add a cappuccino to the set for an additional $30nt.
