This is one of the places that is hard to review. Before I visited here, I looked up this place review and saw that everything is quite bad now compared to the past. So I lowered my expectations before I came there.
So, I would say that this place was okay. The atmosphere and decoration of the place are nice and give off an old-time vibe. The staff is okay; we did not interact with them a lot as it's a full house at that time.
Now, the food. My expectations were already low. But when our main dish came, oh my, it could have been a lot better than this. We ordered herb-crusted lamb and canard confit. The duck was okay, despite the fact that the meat was a little bit on the dry side. But the lamb. It's just bad. I don't know if it's the restaurant's recipe or the chef's ability, but that's not how you make the crust!! Grinding peanuts, mixing them with herbs, and calling it a day? Also, the buffet bar is average. Some are good, and some are bad.
Last thing. The ice cream cube. It's too huge. Who did you make that for? Make it half the size, and customers...

Food and service definitely not up to hotel standards. The dining environment is decent, more like a semi-buffet setting.
Ordered the most expensive item on menu (should be), ribeye and lobster, but ended up both protein are substandard. The steak was supposed to be medium, but it was way under and it’s between rare and medium rare…. For the lobster, it was totally mushy so you know it’s frozen for quite some time….
Heard from one of the dinners said that the salad bar is mostly the same with their morning service, means they haven’t put much thought into the menu.
The only commendable item is the beef soup, which is Tainan’s stable hearty comfort food, the rest are really not that good at all.
On the service side, they probably have the least welcoming staff on reception that day, stone cold tone and not even a shed of smile.
I’m sure there are many better options in town for the same price range. Don’t...
Read moreThe large buffet restaurant on the top floor of the hotel! It has a nice view from the windows around. The embellishment here is very great! Since the table is wide and the couch is soft, the cozy and casual ambiance makes the experience excellent! Their courses are really good, moderate in portion and delectable in taste. While the price is fairly moderate, the restaurant provides much delicacy that are not commonly found elsewhere. Other dishes like bread soup, fruit or dessert are also delicious. Their service is prompt, so that one can enjoy the fresh made food with well selected ingredients. It is truly a nice place for gathering of colleagues or friends. As it is not far from the train station, it is convenient for visitors to have a scrumptious meal downtown in this great restaurant! Very...
