Slightly overpriced pizza. Authentic but inauthentic. Authentic in its details, but inauthentic in its taste and combination. Had impression they has overpriced beer too, but we didn't have them. We were gonna order two combo pizzas, which had to be the same sauce base but one of the bases we wanted got only one option to go combo with. Eventually it was a prosciutto and a combo. As prosciutto goes, expectations went high too, until it hit disappoinment sooner than I knew. They were definitely great pizzas, but, like I said, again, as prosciutto goes, it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. I'm not talking about the ingredients, but the process and final result. I worked in one of the most iconic Italian restaurants in Melbourne, run by Italians with authentic prosciutto slicers being used in front of customers. So I know how a prosciutto pizza should represent itself on plate, on tongue, and on the mood palate. They made the prosciutto "hot" with the pizza base! This is like you microwave a fine slice of smoked salmon... Who does it?! Well, as to the combo one, I can't even recall their species and taste, but yeah overpriced for their quality. Aside from the food we had, the service was okay and the atmosphere somehow disappointed me as well. How should I put it...it felt like a cheap place where you charge high just because you serve authentic pizza. Not saying it's an overpriced Domino's but more like a legit Italian restaurant which usually emphasizes on either class or family authenticity, yet stripped off the first layer of both its taste of the hardware (style and eye to details) and software (food), yet priced the same. Not saying it's not worth it, but that "it" represents the expectations coming along with the...

I have incredibly high standards for pizza. In fact, I believe the vast majority of pizza belongs in the garbage can. So when I was given a recommendation for Pizza Rock in Tainan, I approached it with skepticism but decided to give it a try on a quiet Monday evening.
I’m glad I did.
Somehow, they nailed the crust, sauce, and cheese ratio, something that so many places fail to get right. The crust had the perfect balance—crispy on the outside, yet light and airy on the inside. The sauce had just the right level of tang and richness without overpowering the rest of the pie. And the cheese? Just enough to bring everything together without turning it into a greasy mess.
In a world where so much pizza is an afterthought, this place gets it. I could imagine Kojak himself taking a break from investigating an international case, walking into Pizza Rock, and being pleasantly surprised by how good this pie is. Maybe he'd lean back in his chair, pop a lollipop in his mouth, and give a knowing nod—because even a tough detective knows when something is done right.
For a pizza spot in Taiwan to meet (and exceed) my high expectations is no small feat. Pizza Rock delivers. If you’re in Tainan and crave a real, well-balanced pizza, this is the...
Read moreIG: foodie_foxx The most successfully franchise ever in tiawan, the basic root started in kenting and now they have more than 20 stores all around taiwan. Very simple and but yet tasty pizza around the town. I would really appreciate if they improve their taste on the rest of the menu apart from pizzas. I would always be a very good customer for theri pizza as I love their crust 😋 and their toppings. It's insanely fresh and yummy 😋. We also ordered Mac and cheese which was quite disappointing and also their Ceasars salad which was quite wet and not seasoned properly. Chicken drumsticks to dry and not well coated with their batter and spices. Always give a try on theri new pizzas like spicy salami which is recently up and their Mexican pizza for spicy lovers. Do all add double cheese which would give u the real feel of an American pizza 🍕
Bon appetite...
