Shi Dongxi Cafeteria — Restaurant in Tainan

This fiasco might’ve been last year when I visit Taiwan but the sheer incompetence is so monumental it demands an update.

We came as a party of 8, only to be greeted by a puddle the size of a koi pond right at the hot food station. No yellow warning sign, no staff awareness, whatever it was, just a slippery trap waiting to send someone to the ER. Sure enough, family member slipped and crashed down. By some miracle, no one cracked their skull.

The manager? Oh, she rushed in with a face full of apologies and handed us a token “gift,” which might as well have been Monopoly money for how useless it was had this escalated legally. My family chose not to press charges, instead unloading a verbal lashing they deserved. If it were me? I’d see you in court. You got lucky, very lucky indeed.

And please, stop parading yourselves as a “hotel buffet restaurant.” You don’t even meet the safety standards of a two-star roadside inn. Basics like preventing injury should be tattooed onto your daily checklist, yet here you are failing at ground-level responsibility.

Now, let’s talk food. Oh god, here we go again. Once upon a time, it had promise. Now? Downhill freefall. The so-called “rotating menu every 3–4 months” is a fairy tale. I’ve seen the same greasy, tired slop on repeat, while your handful of decent signature dishes mysteriously vanished.

Sashimi? Forgettable. Salmon? Nowhere to be found. Cold platter? Oh yes, a generous display of empty clam shells, because who doesn’t love eating decorative garbage?

2025/8/10回訪，極度糟糕的用餐體驗，再也不會前往

餐點：晚間18.30入場，前往生魚片區取用生魚片，居然完全空盤，鮭魚和鮪魚片完全沒有看到，只剩下鯽魚和零碎的鯊魚煙，一直到將近20.00才補上鮭魚和鮪魚，但是鮭魚一端上來直接被夾到空盤，就連鮪魚也只剩下零散的幾片，人潮擁擠完全沒有辦法取用餐點。後續補上來的也只剩鯊魚煙、鯽魚、水針、花枝和尼信，跟服務員反應得到回應是，鮭魚和鮪魚都已經沒有了，時間還沒到20.00，卻一堆食材空盤，吃過這麼多間酒店和餐廳，從來沒遇過如此誇張且糟糕的情況，實在令人無法理解。其中花枝生魚片異常，夾起時呈現些微黏稠絲狀，食用時口感軟爛，絕對不是新鮮的食材。

服務：最令人咋舌的還是這個，向服務員詢問是否有濕紙巾，我問了「3」個服務員才終於有濕紙巾可以用，第一次問上餐人員告知咖啡機旁邊有，但前往取用餐巾盤已經空了，第二次向另外一位收餐人員詢問卻「聽不懂」我在說什麼，很明顯是連中文都不太會的外籍員工，他還想將我帶去詢問切牛排的人員，我直接謝過再去詢問另一位戴眼鏡的女服務員，終於對方主動拿取數包濕紙巾給我，前後花了十多分鐘才終於結束，實在是糟糕至極的服務體驗！其他飯店酒店就算聘用外籍員工，中文也不至於如此糟糕！

氛圍：整間餐廳像是路邊攤一樣，餐廳人數過多，小孩又吵又鬧跑跑跳跳的，排隊取餐有些人直接插隊毫無禮儀，雖然跟餐廳經營無關，但糟糕的體驗是不爭的事實。

總而言之，和過往前來用餐的體驗相比，實在是無法接受。全台灣有很多可以前往享用的餐廳，食東西是少數整體體驗評為「差勁」的餐廳之一，品質持續下降、服務體驗低落、客群品質參差不齊，短短一年居然水準下落如此之快，如果沒有維持品質的能耐建議可以收掉了。

2024/4/2 跟家人慶祝生日來這裡吃大餐🍰

海鮮的部分真的很讚～🦞 天使紅蝦吃了快10隻，很新鮮剝殼也很容易

螃蟹龍蝦味噌湯很日式，我個人很喜歡這種鹹香的湯頭 加上一點白飯、香蔥、薑，就是超好吃的高湯茶泡飯

甜點居然有貍小路，他們家的蛋糕吃兩三次了，每次都覺得很好吃，搭配他們自製的莫西多有夠好吃～

冰淇淋和冰棒是Talato和 春一枝，兩家都是使用台灣在地的水果去做冰品，真的很棒～🍦
