Adjusting the taste to suit Taiwanese preferences in Thai cuisine. The Thai restaurant has a tropical decor style, and if you don't make a reservation, it's unlikely you'll get a table; it's almost always crowded when passing by. To cut to the chase, both of my companions were satisfied with the taste of the dishes, but as someone who had lived in Southeast Asian countries for many years, I felt a bit disappointed. The sour and spicy soup wasn't sour or spicy enough, the green curry lacked coconut milk, and the seasoning for the fried items wasn't flavorful enough. Currently, the Thai-style shrimp omelette and the spicy minced pork were really delicious, but I thought the others were just okay. 😅
Actually, I can understand that the popular papaya salad found in night markets often differs significantly from the original Thai version. If you haven't tried Thai cuisine before, you can give it a try. However, if you're longing for authentic Thai home cooking, I wouldn't...
Read moreWhen entering the shop and confirming on the reservation. There is a male staff named "fish" was agitated when he asked for last 4 digits of my phone number. I was not familiar with their local term and he was very rude. I almost walked out of the restaurant but stay on to taste their food. They should review the behaviour of this particular staff.
The food was not authentic. The lemon bake fish was too sour, too much lemon. The basil pork does not taste the basil at all. The tomyum taste nothing like tomyum. But overall the food still manage to eat, just not authentic.
The atmosphere was ok but the toilet was confusing. Maybe putting some signs to indicate would be better.
Overall experience was bad since the mood was spoiled by...

Oh.... if I rated it purely on my pad thai, I'd struggle to give it even one star. It really tasted mostly like... shrimp paste and Taiwanese chili sauce on mushy rice noodles. It was... so sad. Barely a whisper of those sweet and sour tamarind, salty, crunchy peanut, sticky-dry noodle vibes that everyone loves pad thai for! A curry would have been a safer bet.
All dishes had a strong Taiwanese perspective. Even the coconut sago was adulterated with red bean. I can get Taiwanese food anywhere-- we come for Thai food, you know?
Anyway, the rest of the meal was... fine. There's some effort here, I'm just not sure how much authenticity there is. It's...
