家鴻燒鵝 — Restaurant in Taipei

ordered a roast pork and bbq pork bento for TWD 85. this was great: generous portions of side dishes/veggies. decent portion of meat. the skin of the roast pork was somewhat saltier but it was crispy. bbq pork tasted quite delicious and on the leaner side.

decided to encore with a small order of bbq pork/roast pork for TWD 120. this was a disaster. first, the portion size was disappointing. secondly, the roast pork was smothered in sauce which rendered the skin to be somewhat soggy. the amount of sauce also made the bbq pork overly salty as well.

I had a disappointing experience dining in at this restaurant. I placed my order and waited over 20 minutes while watching the staff prioritize a long line of to-go orders. When I politely asked about the status of my food, the server responded with an attitude, saying they had too many takeout orders to handle. I understand when a restaurant is busy, but dine-in guests shouldn’t be completely overlooked or made to feel like an inconvenience. Probably the best roasted goose restaurant in town. Busy with customers and orders as early as 10 am. This restaurant comes with the HK standard around 80%. Juicy goose. Crispy skin. Rich taste without spoiling the goose taste. All at cheap price. Unreasonably low price. No wonder it's so popular with various customers. Taxi drivers line up for its lunch boxes as early as 10:30 am. Love this one. With such low price don't expect good service. Very traditional Cantonese service...
