1001 Nights Taipei — Restaurant in Taipei

My friends and I booked a table for the night, and it was communicated to us that we were expected to pay over NT2000 to be able to book a table. Since we were celebrating, we happily agreed. We knew that we would spend much more than that anyway. While we were having fun, dancing, smoking shisha, and only on our second drink of the evening, the owner came up to us, and said that we’re costing him money because we weren’t more people at the table. As paying customers, who have been ordering food and drinks, and were well within our budget, we found it considerably rude for the owner to walk up to us, blatantly ask “Who booked this table?” and then tell us, in his own words, that we (minding our own business, having fun). “are costing him money.” I am very displeased by this utterly rude service. I advice you go spend your money somewhere else with tastier drinks, a better dance floor, shisha that doesn’t taste like burnt water, and maybe service that doesn’t attack you while you’re just out having fun. This bar is mainly for youngsters, which we understood, but we weren’t there for the music or shisha — just to enjoy a conversation among colleagues. (Second place for some last deinks) The bartenders were ok but not the drinks so we just decided only Corona Beer. We had been there for hours with no issue until a foreign waiter showed up land suddenly decided to play boss. He rudely claimed we were blocking the way to the toilet, and service ordering even though staff had originally placed us there and nobody had complained. We moved were he wanted us to be, but when I asked to the guys in the bartenders if he was the boss. He became aggressive then I told him he is a rude he considered he could treat us like that. We left immediately we obviously were not there for trouble and decide was time to call the day.His arrogant and disrespectful behavior completely ruined the evening. No customer should be treated in this way in the service industry, just because staff member feels entitled. Think twice before giving your money to a place that allows this behavior. Definitely not going to spend my money...

It was a terrible experience! I won’t recommend this bar to anyone. The service was really unacceptable, your reservation maybe accidentally cancelled for no reason and the staff may even try to blame it on you. After some “discussion” they were so unwillingly to provide us a table and told us to leave before midnight(it was already 23:00). Although a woman(seems like the manager) promised to find us another table after midnight, we were still warned by a male waiter that our shisha would be taken away after an hour since we had to leave after midnight. We then explained to him a woman already promised to find us another table, then he said “Then you have to talk to her by yourself.” WHAT?!!!At last the woman got us a tiny table, and one of us didn’t even get a chair and she had to stand all night.
