Currently in Taipei pseudo-digital nomading for a few weeks, and I stumbled upon this cozy coffee shop while grabbing lunch around the corner.
The first thing I noticed as I stepped into the shop was a poster of common words in the Taiwanese Sign Language on the left wall. Cute! but I didn't think too much of it besides that it was informative 😂
While I was perusing the menu, I was taken a little aback that the pour over was about half the cost of many other coffee spots around the area. I started with a familiar taste: Kenya (NT95 ≈ US$3.05)
While respecting the pour over process, I was chatting with the cashier, who I originally thought was the owner. He was super friendly and upon learning that I'm from LA, our spoken language turned from Chinese to English lulz. Apparently he has taken several extended stay trips to NYC and been to other US cities along the way!
I was asking about the origins of the coffee shop, and the cashier mentioned the owner (who was meticulously brewing my coffee) has loved coffee all his life and wanted to open a shop after he retired. He also roasts and blends his own beans. He keeps his prices down (there was hardly a markup!!) because he doesn't care to make a profit.. rather he just wants to make coffee for others. It's rare to hear stories like this in the modern world these days... 🤗 As for the coffee, so perfectly balanced and you can distinguish the flavor notes!
My heart is so full after having discovered this place! I've always thought Taiwan to be special; providing a safe space for Bravo Caffè to thrive is one of the textbook...
Read moreCute, cosy, child-friendly coffee shop run by some deaf friends. Simply look at the menu (it's also in English) point at what you want and how you'd like it and standby for some really, very tasty fresh brewed coffee.
The service is warm, welcoming and friendly and if I am in the area, I'll make every effort to get there. You can even get to learn some basic Taiwanese Sign Language while you wait.
Great coffee Great service... Highly ...
✨ Discovered a super lovely café today ✨ At first, I didn’t realize the owners are hearing-impaired, so I ordered my drink a bit too fast 🙈 Later I found out they actually read our lip movements and we can also just point to the menu when ordering. It was such a heartwarming experience 🥹💖
The best part? The price! A large drink is only 100 NTD, which is honestly such a good deal in this busy area 🥤💕 And on the wall, there are little guides showing us how to communicate with them in a friendly way. You can even learn a few simple gestures here—it’s so thoughtful! 🌸
I got a mocha (less sugar, less ice) and it was sooo good 😍 Highly recommend!
The shop is quite cozy—only about 3 tables and a long bench that fits around 6 people. Perfect for a chill little coffee break ☕✨
What makes this place truly special is that it’s not just about coffee, but also about connection. You get to experience a meaningful moment of inclusive communication and learn how a simple smile or gesture can bridge worlds 🌏❤️
Definitely coming...
