I don’t usually leave poor reviews, but I feel the need to warn others about ordering this burrito on Uber Eats. The cost is 270 NT, but after the service charges set by the restaurant, it ends up being 310 NT (I am paying for Uber One). When it arrived, I was shocked at how small it was. This baby burrito is barely the length of my index finger, and I’m a fairly short person! For the price, it offers very little. The filling consists of just three ingredients: meat, a small amount of beans, and pickled onions.
In terms of value for money, I’d rate this a one out of five, but I don’t want to leave a review that harsh. That said, the portion size is incredibly disappointing. Notice that there’s no picture of this item on Uber Eats—there’s probably a reason for that. While the taste wasn’t bad (or remarkable to be honest), the portion was so tiny that I needed to order more food just to feel full. Even the green salsa came in the smallest container imaginable.
Perhaps the in-person experience is better, but for delivery, I’d recommend caution. If you’re considering ordering, make sure you know what you’re getting. No one likes to feel ripped off. I read Google reviews quite a bit and I trust them, this is the reason I ordered this restaurant in the first place. Hopefully maybe the restaurant can make changes and either lower the price, or add more value by adding more substantial ingredients to make the price...

The service could be better. The guy didn't even bring water refill. We had to flag him down. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I think they should do better! It's silly, but there weren't even water containers around to refill.
Lastly, the food. The tortillas were not as fresh. But then again it was a Thursday. Also, the food was so bland. I got the fried fish, which was okay, but I had to add so much salt to it for it to be passable. The fried chicken was over fried? It was almost on the borderline to chewy. The pico de Gallo was the saddest pico de Gallo I had ever seen. It's supposed to have the smallest cubed onions and tomato and finely sliced cilantro with lemons, some salt. Theirs had huge tomato and onion pieces that hadn't been soaked in the lemon. It hadnt soaked in enough yet. The point is, it's supposed to have that Salty lemon taste. It had none of that or any juice. It was just SAD. And I say this as someone who lived in Arizona for half my life, and has been making my own pico de Gallo with other Mexicans for 10 years.
It's unfortunate that Taipei doesn't have a lot of authentic Mexican places. I think this place has a lot of promise, but it needs to tweak...
Read moreAs a California native, I grew up eating Mexican food. Since moving to Taiwan, it’s really been the only thing I’ve really missed. After trying pretty much all of the Mexican spots in Taipei, Fonda is really the only one I’ve returned to. I’ve been ordering burritos for delivery once or twice a week since I discovered them and finally made it to the restaurant. There’s certain items that just don’t travel well, like tacos and tostadas, so was happy try them. My real favorite tonight was the carnitas tamale. It came with some frijoles and it really hit the spot for me. The Jamaica was also super nostalgic. Really wanted to try the mole but was told they aren’t doing it right now, I assume cause ingredients are hard to come by in Taiwan. Even the most basic Mexican ingredients like limes and fresh jalapeños are difficult to source (I’ve tried) so what they are doing here with local ingredients is solid. Sure it’s not as good Cali or North America, where Mexican ingredients are abundant, but that’s an unfair comparison. Nonetheless it’s the best you’re gonna find in Taipei and still very comforting. Service was also super friendly...
