It's the annual hotspot of the Strawberry Daifuku (mochi). It's also the annual gathering point for waiting in line during Chinese New Year in the Da Tong district. To receive a mochi from here means your loved one has put the time and effort to wake up early and wait in line for hours and buy expensive dessert for you. This is the good part about it.

Now the ugly part. Waiting in line while is common in Taiwan, thi sis truly epic and always in the winter time also. Anyways, besides the waiting which is 80% of the experience. The mochi is pretty good. It's very aesthetic to the eye and just eating one you can taste the mochi, strawberry, redbean and the full weight of all those calories.

5 boxes max around 80$ usd although, there are resellers all over the place. A lot of professional line standers on IG posting for 900 resale instead of original 600. I hate those guys they are ruining it for everyone. Taking the beauty out the Taiwanese tradition of waiting and being rewarded for patience. ...

Delicious as a snack and perfect for gift. Their red bean desserts carry such rich and sweet deep red bean flavor that I will always remember. You can get an afternoon snack for 50nt that has a really nice tea to accompany it. Or you can buy a gift set to give to someone that comes in a really nice box with different flavors you can pick yourself. The gift box that comes with eight desserts comes at around 200-ish to 300 depending on what you pick. It does require refrigerating and can only be kept for one week though since they don’t use any preservatives. But if you’re visiting a relative or friend, I couldn’t think of a better gift that is both special and economically reasonable. The employees are also super nice...

We stop here just because there was a queue on front and by the time we cross the street they open up the line 🤣. I grab dorayaki and a cake, then i knowtes that there's a woman bring a tray with a cup of drink and grilled cake (and i think that i have to try it). After paying for the dorayaki and cake, we bought the cake set outside, they provide some benches outside the store. Well the set we bought is wafer with redbean paste, and it come with a cup of tea. The taste of the waffer bring back fraction of my childhood. The dorayaki is also nice, since the anko came from the same batter, the other cake is…i cannot describe, it is nice...
