What a find! The atmosphere is elegant (esp. the curtained private table), the food is fresh & authentic, the 2 soups & 2 salads we tried & beef Arabic pastry all authentic & totally fresh-made to order.
Service is polite & fully multilingual, & owner is Taiwan's ambassador promoting Muslim tourism for good reason -- her charm could melt an iceberg! I just came from Turkey & Egypt (& know Oman, Maroc & Emirates) so can attest she will meet visitors' standards who know the wonders of those cuisines.
Mint sweet tea is poured high from an ornate pot to cool it -- my guest thought she might rub it & a genie would appear! The glasses are works of art too, a fine finish since her generous portions may make you defer desserts till the next visit.
Owner has over 15 years founding restaurants in Yuanshan & the city's 2 main transit stations -- we are lucky that now she has the perfect elegant setting to please Taiwan's halal visitors, residents and the rest of us!
Update: our return for family holiday/graduation celebration was amazing -- more main dishes like beef with plums, lamb with okra and her fragrant chicken-heavy biryani (hadn't had rosewater in a savory dish before but it adds to the magical mix of spices that makes it like a visit to her native Casablanca). Try her sun-soaked cuisine -- no chilis at all but sooo many flavors will...
Read moreThe atmosphere in this Halal restaurant is truly amazing. We started with the daal soup, which was quite good—simple and plain . For our main course, we ordered the chicken Kabsah. The dish was flavorful, and the portion of rice was generous and chicken was incredibly tender but the bold spices were a bit too much . The kebabs were so good and juicy from inside. the rice pudding and the Moroccan tea provided a perfect end to the meal. One of the highlights was the private corner where we dined; it added a nice touch to the experience. While the space was a bit narrow, the fan kept it comfortable. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
What made the evening even more special was the owner’s generosity and warm hospitality May Allah bless her and bless this restaurant and all the...
Read morePretty close to MRT. Food is tasty and well spiced (authentic flavor). Menu is mostly north Indian classics with some Morrocan/ middle eastern selection ( hummus and some Tajin). I think the head chef trained in Dubai and is very skilled with masalas. The buffet on Saturdays has more Morrocan and Arab style dishes. If you don't want hot chili spice, they have many gentle and fragrant choices full of sweet and savory spice. Bathroom is CLEAN and well ventilated. Parking is street parking in Wanhua.
Nice friendly service. English is spoken. Mint tea is served. Definitely coming back again to try more...
