Very delightfully surprised by this place! The shop was quaint and cute, The coffee was delicious, and the attention to detail was unmatched. They take care to keep the temperature of the water optimal before pouring the pourover, and they make sure to taste the coffee before serving it (poured into a testing cup, not directly from the mug), adding an extra touch of quality control. They clearly take pride in their craft, ensuring every cup is brewed to perfection.

One minor quirk: I was gently reprimanded for squeezing a bag of beans to get a better whiff of their aroma. Apparently, this can shorten the beans' shelf life, according to them. I did a bit of research and confirmed that is not the case. The one-way valve is for the CO2 to escape and for the bag not to rupture. However, oxygen is what causes the beans to spoil, not the lack of CO2. So squeezing the bag doesn't actually make a difference either way. Tucked away in a side alley, it's perfect for those looking for a quiet retreat to study, work or just grab a book from a shelf and unwind to a soft jazzy soundtrack. For those planning to study there, just note that the seats towards the back of the café may be too dark for your purpose (I actually had to switch to the window table to get enough light for my comfort).

The menu only offers a couple of food options, such as homemade cake and cookies, but the coffee selection is extensive. Pick your specialty brew or fold onto your drink of choice. The iced latte is delicious. Coffee beans and brewing kits are also available for sale.

The service is impeccable. Water is refilled timely and I was also treated to a shot-size drip coffee (a taste I haven't quite gotten used to yet, but nonetheless a small gesture I very much...

Peloso's my first third wave coffee experience way back when and are the picture perfect image of a third wave cafe: beautiful and simple decor (comfy, warm, woody living room vibe) and quality care, understanding, and extraction of their coffee.

I've stopped in many a time to buy bags of beans to bring home and they truly rank up there. I have had a looot of different third wave coffee beans from around the world, and Peloso truly ranks up there.

My only complaint is that I hate their hours. As someone who's from the US who has coffee anywhere from early morning to late afternoon, the late openings throw me. I know it's a Taiwan thing,...
