The service was appalling"absolutely horrible". Left me ,my friend, and my little sister very uncomfortable throughout the time we sat there eating. We had already had dinner at another place after visiting the new aquarium and continued on with a little shopping at Gloria Outlets when we saw a tempting poster outside of your restaurant that you guys had oysters and they honestly looked pretty good and the restaurant looked nice too.I mean we already ate but the advertising looked good so we stepped in thinking we'd have a good time good food, basically we were looking for a snack. We read the menu it said we had to spend an average of 300 per person so we ordered just enough to fulfil that amount maybe not a lot but enough. I didn't know how the ordering system went so I quietly went up to the register and a lady which "at the time I thought was nice"went back with me to take our order. And that's when we placed our order of bacon cheese fries, buffalo wings, and what we walked in for the first place a plate of oysters. The same waitress that accompanied me to our table after listening to me say that was all we wanted said ha? In a short outburst and paused a very uncomfortable amount of time then went to place our order for us. Once she left we immediately felt ridiculed and mocked by this waitress (I mean she was so nice at first?? and then she changed our view of her in just seconds). While we were waiting for our order me and my friend were trying to shrug the bad atmosphere off by looking at the photos we had taken together at the aquarium when my friend told me that some of the waiters were staring at us in the restaurant and whispering just loud enough to let us hear they were talking about our table and how little we ordered I noticed and I heard them talking too. I felt very unhappy and extremely disappointed with these people who ruined the rest of our evening. And to an extent that I think they made our tables buffalo wings taste wayyy too sour than they should be I mean it didn't taste that way before or did the recipe change? I do hope someone of management could follow up on this cause we were shocked that the waiters that day were just gossiping right in front of us. Lastly ,I also work in a job which I have to face customers on a daily basis but I treat my customers with Respect, I treat people with Respect, but what I experienced that day was just so shocking and so humiliating , that I pray that no other person will be treated like that in...

Visited in September 2025. Taiwan 🇹🇼 Taipei.

Located in an outlet mall, The Big Pier is a spacious restaurant with a live seafood aquarium and a vibrant port-themed decor, complete with nautical details that create a lively, immersive vibe.

FOOD:

The menu centers on seafood, offering buckets of delicacies with various set options or customizable picks. The signature experience is the seafood dump—gloves provided, a heap of shellfish fried in your chosen sauce is poured onto the table for self-peeling. It’s messy, fun, and delicious! We also tried their mini burgers, with the Wagyu and lobster burger standing out. Its patty had an unusual texture, somewhere between ground meat and steak, but the flavor balance was spot-on and juicy. The oyster burger was an intriguing, creative twist, though less memorable. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-executed.

SERVICE:

The service was fast and efficient, with an English menu featuring pictures that made ordering a breeze. Dishes arrived quickly, adding to the seamless experience.

VERDICT:

We loved The Big Pier, especially its unique seafood bucket concept. Every dish we tried was tasty, and the bright, clean atmosphere made it a standout. It’s likely one of the best dining spots in this outlet mall, perfect for a fun,...

First time dining here but we've been to Gloria outlet everytime we visited Taiwan.

Notable dishes that i would recommend would be the lobster, honey mustard chicken and Chilli fries.

The crawfish wasn't very fresh, it was mushy and lack any taste.

Service could definitely be better, the staff there looked really uninterested to be working there. As we were about to leave, we were told dessert that came with out set meal has not been served and that would take another 20 min of waiting. I kind of wished they would have reminded, asked or even told us while we were already paying for the meal. As we were about to leave, we asked for hot water for my grandmother but they said they only had room temperature water and that hot water would require more waiting time...which was kind of shocking for this kind of below 20 degrees chilly weather you would think they would have hot water on stand by..

Highly doubt we would patronize here again which is a shame considering some dishes were...

Don’t mind the price and you will have an enjoyable experience (pouring out seafood on table and eating from there). Order the bucket of seafood to share (three sauces to choose from: Cajun, butter garlic, black pepper; butter garlic was fine but could use more garlic. Also choose two sides: I recommend the sausage. We noticed there were also sweet potatoes inside, which was sweet and aromatic). We had two people and one bucket was plenty which is fine for seafood lovers. But better would be share among four people and order a couple other items like scallop Caesar salad (yummy and lots of cheese, scallops were fresh and raw inside and sweet), nachos plate (a bit dry but flavorful enough with lots of crunch; should have more toppings and offer sour cream). NT90 for refillable sodas. Bathroom is nearby 2-3 min walk in mall area or can wash hands inside restaurant sink. Nice atmosphere and good service. Waitstaff will help with de-shelling of lobster and king crab legs.

Here we go! One of the restaurant that I can’t wait to dine in and review on! Reservation in advance is highly recommended. Definitely a 5* for its value leveraging the food (we ordered lobster) that was being ordered. Lobster bucket seems to be its signature so I highly recommend ordering that if this is your first time here. Wings are exactly the way I prefer it as an American, not too dry not not too soggy just right and crispy (would highly recommend as well) Please for anyone who isn’t good with spiciness even “mild” may be a little too spicy as it is more considered as hot for most people. The staffs like every other restaurants in Taiwan will often look tired or depleted but they will put on a gentle smile if you need their assistance. Design is great it gives me a semi feeling of both being in an American harbor restaurant and in Taiwan at the same time. Great time great experience and will definitely come back again!
