Taipei Souvlaki — Restaurant in Xinyi District

The food was all so delicious! We ordered the halloumi cheese, fried calamari, Greek salad, and hummus for appetizers. The portion sizes are great as we can try different dishes without getting too full. My husband and I thought the appetizers were all very tasty. He does not like hummus, but he loved the hummus here. It was tangy, creamy, and the olive oil used was very good. The Greek Salad was very good too. The dressing was not too sweet which is something I worry about since it seems food in Taiwan is on the sweeter side. I loved the addition of basil in the salad. It was different, but very tasty. My husband ordered the chicken Souvlaki and I ordered the lamb platter. The meat was well seasoned and juicy. The tzatziki sauce was so good. Creamy and garlicky. The owner makes his own yogurt for this sauce! Loved how water was self serve and the condiments were plentiful. Bonus points for having Tabasco. Wow wow wow! Owner makes his own tzatziki and uses very high quality extra virgin olive oil in the dishes (you can easily taste the difference when it’s a good one). The chicken wrap was expertly made with crunchy fries, tender meat and lots of that house made tzatziki. Lamb platter was also perfectly cooked- grilled, tender & juicy. The hummus is some of the best I’ve ever had- because he puts lots of lemon in it-creamy, zesty…amazing. Calamari and grilled halloumi cheese also delicious. Medium portion sizes for the appetizers so you can try lots of dishes since they are very well priced (very high cp value). It was truly a delight to find a good Greek food spot in Taipei. Taipei Souvlaki serves various souvlaki in both wrap and platter form. The meats are all flavored well and the tzatziki sauce provides the perfect blend with the meats.

As this restaurant is family run and the food made fresh, please do expect some wait for your food. The food will be worth the wait.

Do note that they have a few tables for seating outside while offering some indoor dining tables as well. Given that the meats are grilled and seafood fried in an open kitchen indoors, there could be a good amount of smoke and smells indoor. For those that care, please be wary and try to get the outside seating instead.
