馬太郎燒肉 — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

Very bad place, what a pity, the service here is just awful, my friends and I came here with a reservation for 8, we had a table and it suppose to be ready, in the table there where only 5 plates and 3 towels, not a big deal, so I got up and when to ask the girl for more, but she was very rude and tell go to my place and she will go, she did not even wanted to listen what i wanted, so I told her I just wanted some more plates and towels and she keep ignoring me, I was with some foreign friends, and I did not wanted to give them a bad impression about Taiwan or taiwanese service in general, so I decided not make a big deal of it and went back to the table, the same girl came with the plates and did not put them, she almost throws them in the table, we were very surprised, and very angry, she said a bunch of things about the menu and we decided not to have a meal that we can share but order individually so that everyone could choose what to eat, since some of my friends don't eat that much, when we told her when did not want the all you can eat service, she was very angry and took away our menu and just shouted "you have one hour to eat and leave" while she was walking back to where she came from... everyone's food arrived 15 minutes later and after that only mine did not came for other 15 minutes or so, after my meal came she toss it in front of me again and just walked away, by that time we have already waited for 25~30 minutes or so, and we suppose to have just one hour? ... If i was alone i probably would have left the place immediately after she shouted at me, but is a piti my foreigners friends had to see such an unprofessional service in Taiwan, I explained to them that this is not common, yet you know it is a bad impression for everyone, locals and foreigners, and a shame for the store, please do not waste your money here, you will go home...

Aight so we came here cuz we saw it has sooo many reviews and a fairly good 4+⭐️ rating. But DA DECEPTION IS REAL gurl lemme tell yall.

The food is alright. It's pretty good but I’ve definitely had better. The winning factor for the food is that it's all you can eat. I'd say the quality is aight but I’ve definitely had better beef. (Also for context we ordered the most expensive one, the 1k+ TWD one) SO HONESTLY I EXPECTED BETTER but ok I close one eye cus can eat and eat and eat until toh. Actually no lemme minus one point cus they say got dessert but the dessert is not dessert. It's just mochi and marshmallow. Who da heck calls marshmallow a dessert brah that's a snack. Ok but the scallop was bussin, I'll give it that. And some of the beef was hella good too.

Service was mid. Low mid. Like second lower class in academic gradings. You order through a QR code and they take about 3 business days before they get served. I ordered a saucer of spring onion and it took about 6 business days to arrive. Servers look like they hate their job and are just trying to get through the day. There weren't many customers so like idk why they still look so ded. But ok I give 1 star cus they still served us, albeit slow. But the food still got come la. And also 1 star cuz I gets, been service staff before too and defs know what it's like to be dead inside so, 1 star for relatability homies I feel yall frfr

Okay so let’s begin with the waiter in the counter. If you don’t like your job. Quit. No customers that walks in need to put up with your mad face and attitude. I should actually be giving the restaurant 1 star just for that, but I’ll rate it accordingly. This place definitely needs better training for their waitress/staffs. None of them spoke mandarin or even understand it. There’s a big communication problem. Yes, this place is cheaper than other bbq places, but you get what you paid for. Quality is average, service is slower than other places. They can do a better job at wiping and cleaning the floor cause who wants to step on sticky floors? All in all, i probably wouldn’t come back here and rather pay a little extra for somewhere better. Maybe under better management this place...
