I visited the shop on a weekend at around 3 or 4 PM, and I was happy to see that it wasn't too crowded at that time. The service from the staff was fast and friendly, which made my experience even better.
The shop itself has a more restaurant-like ambience than a typical ramen shop, but it was still a great place to enjoy a bowl of ramen. Speaking of which, I tried the 太刀拉麵 or Long Sword/Samurai Sword Ramen. This ramen was a bit on the pricey side, but it was worth it.
The 太刀拉麵 had two different kinds of meat - ribs and pork loin. Both meats were cooked to perfection, with a sweet and charred flavor that I absolutely loved. The ribs were so tender that they fell off the bone, making it easy to enjoy every bite.
The soup had a fishy flavor, but it wasn't too strong and it actually complemented the dish really well. The ramen noodles themselves were thick and chewy, which made for a satisfying meal.
If you're a fan of ramen with a fishy soup and a choice of meat selection, I definitely recommend trying this shop. However, if you're on a budget, I suggest trying their basic ramen first before going for the pricier options. The menu has indicators for the different soup flavors (Fishy and Pork levels) and types of meat, so it's easy to choose based on your...
Read moreAjitama Ramen with Roasted Pork (Their top dish) ($369): You can add an extra half a ball of noodles for free. The soft boiled egg (Ajitama) tastes so special and saltier than any other equivalents. The roasted pork bellies are relatively tender, luscious, sufficient in portion, and fatty, which tastes better than 99% of Taiwanese braised pork. On top of that, the texture of the ramen noodles is just outstandingly distinctive, satisfying, and so unique to others.
Soft drinks such as Coke, Calpis cost $60, and $100 for an Asahi.
In conclusion, the prices are a little higher than the average price a ramen costs but this is probably the best and most authentic ramen I’ve ever tried this year (2025). The peak hour on weekdays is perhaps only 12 pm and it gets much less people when the time reaches 1 pm. The location of the restaurant is a few minutes away from MRT Station Zhongshan exit 2. Overall, it’s definitely a 10 out of 10!

Read moreAlways a pleasure dining here. The fried tofu is particularly delicious. Good value for your money, in particular if you want some extra side dishes and go with the individual set meal or set meal for two.
You can request additional noodles upfront which is always great when you are looking for something that could last you the whole day. Some may dislike the shrimp base, so if you are one if those stay clear. Personally I love it! They do have bowls without shrimp oil so look for those if you are allergic. The noodles are on thick side (preference) and the chef cooks them very consistently al dente.
Allergy warning: some bases have shrimp oil and some...
