I arrived at this place at about 1.30pm thinking of grabbing a sandwich and coffee. Apparently they only start serving sandwiches after 2pm. So I ordered the Japanese style pan fried fish. I have no issue with the food except that I do not take the soup with beef stock and also the bamboo shoots they served was way to pungent to my liking. I was rather disappointed with the male waiter that served me at the counter. His attitude was cold and without any expression. And when I asked for another pair of chopsticks because I dropped mine, he basically take his own sweet time to walk to the kitchen and get me another pair of chopsticks. No sense of urgency at all. I’m pretty sure I won’t be back again.

Such a big cafe which consist of 5 floors! All drinks and coffee are good in quality, and the food meal (lunch) are surprisingly good in quality, although the waiting time is super long for the meal. There is not much service at all, most of the food you need to collect and return by yourself. Dining area are comfortable and some artistic pieces are setting in different location inside the cafe.

It's really a nice coffee shop around the national Taipei university of education. The American breakfast I ordered was great! Two toasts, two eggs, two spreads (butter and jelly), two drinks (coffee and milk), salad, and tuna. 4 stars for the food and the interior setting (art decor, some books to read, comfort sitting). 3 stars for the customer service. Free Wifi available.

I've been coming to this shop for over 15 years, ever since I started coming to Taiwan and staying there. It has the atmosphere of a gallery coffee shop. In the past, I often invited Taiwanese painters here to chat. Now I use it for lunch, dinner, and urban citizen sketches. The coffee is good, but recently I've started to like ordering hot yuzu tea. We ordered 2 coffees with our meals, one with milk and the other with milk and sugar, both were given to us black. Had to ask the waitress for milk and sugar, only for her to then tell us that sugar was a self-serve thing. So maybe the lady who took our order wasn’t supposed to ask if we wanted sugar in our coffees?

The mushrooms with my food tasted revolting and were completely unseasoned. My friend’s order of maple syrup pancakes and fried chicken also came with the pancakes smeared with tartare sauce.
