Jin Din Rou — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

Pretty typical of a Taiwanese restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was poor to mediocre.

I highly recommend the

-truffle xiaolongbao hot and sour soup custard buns

...although everything we tried was delicious.

If the service were a little bit better, I would easily give this place four stars, but...

our tea was always empty (we had to grab the empty pot and go bother someone to fill it for us 3 or 4 times) we had reserved a private room, and each time the servers brought food, they would leave the door open, and one of us would have to get up and go close it if we wanted the room to be quiet they kept mistakenly bringing us food we hadn't ordered

None of the above was really a big deal, and probably wouldn't have bothered me at all if the servers hadn't seemed so sour and...

何年か台北にいて、この店は日本人がよく行く、という話はよく聞いていたけれど、行ったことがなかったので初来訪。 ・接客（店長？）：★☆☆☆☆ ・接客（店員）　：★★★★☆ ・味　　　　　　：★★★☆☆ ・値段　　　　　：★☆☆☆☆ 閉店１時間２０分ほど前に１人で来店。レジにいる店長？の流暢だけど、つっけんどんな態度での案内で地下フロアへ。見た感じ１階も地下の客も全部日本人グループ観光客。 小籠包、炒飯、炒め物、スープを注文（合計：1100元弱≒約4000円）。

●結構美味しいが、これぐらいは他所の安い店で食べられる味 小籠包はこの店の最大の”ウリ”のメニューだが、鼎泰豊ほど美味くなく（食べ慣れてないと同じくらい美味しいと思うかも知れないけれど、微妙にコクや味わいが少ないと思う）、かといって、明月湯包のような、地元民が多い店に比べて特別美味くもなく、安くもない。

●小籠包以外は普通の店かそれ以下 炒め物の味は普通、炒飯は炒飯推しの地元民が通うような飲食店より不味い（ちょっとべチャっとしている）。スープに関しては、本気で作る気あるんだろうか…的な味（オーダーしたのは佛跳牆）。

総じて、小籠包以外は、普通の台湾人が食事してる店と変わらないし、普通の台湾人が食事している店の「看板メニュー」からすれば劣るものばかり（個人な味の好みを排して、冷静に客観的目線で評価しています）。

●観光客には安いと思えるかも知れないが、現地相場では高すぎ 値段的に見れば、平均客単価が台湾人のコンビニ時給１日分（1000元、コンビニ時給はこの付近では125元くらい、日本人感覚では客単価1万円の感じ）ほどの味もサービスもまったく感じられない感じ（サービスについては後述）。個別に適切な店選びをして食べれば、合計500元（≒1900円くらい）もあれば、余裕で美味しく食べられたと思う。

日本人向けガイドブック常連の店なので、台湾の美味しい店を知らない人がガイドブック見て来て、味も値段も比較対象なく「美味しい」と言って有り難がって帰る人だけをターゲットにしている感じ。

●日本人客は中国語わからないと思われてる 最後にスープが出てきて５分ほどして、レジ番をしている店長（店主）？らしき茶髪男性が地下に降りてきて…

「客いないならさっさと上がってこい！ （それを聞いて自分が振り返って） あ！ （中国語がわからないだろうと思って） さっさと会計させて！」 …と言って去って行った。

特に、客が現地の言葉わかならないと思って、好きなこと言ってるお店はほんと残念。

…で、中国語わかる自分は、仕方なく慌てて全皿片付いたところで（閉店３５分前）、息つく間もなく、先ほど店長？に命令を受けたフロア店員の女性が申し訳なさそうに、「上に行って会計してください…(_

Tourist trap; try to avoid. Was ushered here by a taxi driver when the original intention was to dine at dintaifung. Obviously the driver had some benefits from bringing us here. Food was average. What really took us back was that the menu had this item 小笼汤包 and 小笼包 at 280 and 190 respectively. Definitely most people would want the soup in the dumpling hence naturally we selected 小笼汤包. We were then told by the waitress that it doesn't come with soup in it. We were perplexed by that comment as it totally doesn't makes sense. Well it's smart marketing but definitely not honest and upfront. It makes me wonder whether we were ushered to the basement level where it was catered for tourist only.
