The balance of sourness, saltiness, and sweetness in the dishes is well-executed. While it doesn't align with the typical Taiwanese preference for a stronger sweet and salty profile, the combinations work well, resulting in an overall comfortable dining experience. It's not the kind of food that feels heavy or overwhelming with intense flavors.
The Amuse-bouche and Entrée showcase rich layers of flavor. However, personally, I prefer that in addition to these layers, the flavor of a primary ingredient stands out more prominently, with the others acting as supporting elements. So, for me personally, it was just okay in this regard. This is purely a matter of personal preference. Regarding the final Duck dish, I personally prefer duck breast; however, the way the leg meat was prepared was very good.
As for the overall restaurant design style, it leans towards a European bistro feel, and you can sense the owner's deliberate yet casual touches in the decor.
Considering the overall price point versus the value of the ingredients, it feels relatively low. However, the cooking techniques and creativity are impressive and elaborate.
Overall, it's a restaurant with a lot of creative ideas, offering delicious and...
Read moreA delightful culinary experience in the heart of Taipei! We recently had the pleasure of dining at this Modern European gem, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was crafted with creativity, precision, and a flavor profile that leaves a lasting impression. From presentation to palate, everything was top-notch and well worth a try for any food lover in the city.
While we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, we did miss the chance to meet the restaurant’s most famous personality—the beloved CAT. We learned that the VIP was resting that day due to age and well-deserved relaxation time, and the Manager kindly explained that the little star only appears occasionally now.
That said, we’re already planning a return visit—not just for the food, but to hopefully meet the senior-most team member next time. Highly recommended for a tasteful evening and a touch of...

——— Here is a lovely casual French bistro run by a passionate couple. I was truly surprised to find a place like this tucked away in a quiet alley rather than in a touristy area of Taiwan. While it doesn’t follow the fine dining formula that you'd find in Michelin-starred restaurants, the service was unpretentious, concise, and incredibly kind. The dishes were delicate and thoughtful, reflecting the chef’s care, and I was particularly impressed by the choice of glass wine— good condition old-vintage Pinot Noir. The flavors of the food surprised me all over again.
It feels like the owner couple themselves enjoy good food, wine, and the small & beautiful things in life while running this restaurant. These days, I find myself more drawn to places that maintain their own pace and philosophy rather than striving for Michelin recognition. I believe Le Puss is one of those rare places.
The wine list was excellent, and every detail—from the thoughtfully selected tableware and cutlery to the decorations—left a strong impression. Above all, what I appreciated the most was the warmth and kindness of the lady owner, who took the time to explain everything in the midst of a busy service.
Out of my 4-day trip to Taiwan, this was the most precious moment. I look forward to visiting again, and next time, I hope to have a deeper conversation with the couple who run this beautiful place.
Le Puss...
