很難吃,有點失望了!
Really wanted to like this restaurant, but the food was very disappointing.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, with colourful lamps and beautiful pictures of Turkey.
But the food that we ordered was extremely mediocre.
I ordered aubergine/lamb kebab, and my partner ordered a chicken and tomato casserole style dish.
The aubergines were over-baked and blackened, which meant that interior of the aubergine was permeated with a smoky burnt taste, just awful. The lamb part of the kebab was dry and under-seasoned, almost tasteless. The other bits were equally tasteless, with almost no seasoning used whatsoever. There was a tiny spoonful of hummus, which was nice, but that disappeared in a single mouthful.
My partner's dish, with chicken, was also extremely bland. The chicken itself was dry, and the tomato sauce seemed to have nothing else apart from tomatoes. If it were me, I would absolutely not use chicken breast in this recipe, unless paired with something else to make up for the lack of flavour. Chicken breast is the most tasteless part of the chicken.
In order to make the overly-dry food palatable, we asked if there were any sauces that we could add. But there was nothing available. Eventually they were able to conjure up a piece of lemon which improved the situation a bit, but not by much.
I could make better food at home for half the price, and I'm not a professional chef.
Given the relatively high price being charged, and knowing how good Turkish cuisine can be, this restaurant needs to do a...
Read moreHaving been to Turkey a while back and fallen in love with their cuisine, we visited this exotic restaurant in search of the flavor we tasted during our time there and were not disappointed at all. The Turkish owners were very hospitable and willing to conversate with us, and we had a hearty conversation in both English and Chinese about their background and why they wound up here in Taiwan.
The restaurant is a mere 5 minutes away from Songjiang Nanjing MRT station by foot - surface via Exit 1, turn left and walk for a few hundred meters and the restaurant will be in view. Interior decor-wise, the restaurant is well-furnished with traditional Turkish lighting and ornaments. It is evident that the owners strive to transport customers to Turkey, as they also play upbeat Turkish music in the background.
In terms of food, we particularly enjoyed the Turkish pide dipped in Anatolian tomato soup as an appetizer. The main courses we had consisted of barbecues and kebabs and a salad, in addition to the Turkish baklava dessert which I highly recommend.
Pricing is alright for the food quality and service; we paid approximately 1,100 NT per person, though we were extremely stuffed after the meal so I guess that's acceptable for a foreign restaurant like this.
Overall, Safranbolu is a cozy and atmospheric Halal restaurant that you can add to your bucket list if you're in search of a warm albeit exotic dining...
Read moreI've never tried Turkish cuisines before and I don't like lamb meat so my opinion will be bias. We bought a package menu for 2 people:
• Bread and Soup ⭐️2.5/5. Maybe not my style, it's quite bland for me. • Salad, didn't try it. • Lavash ⭐️ 4/5. Like bread bread you know, so okay. • Lahmachun, didn't try it. • Fries ⭐️ 5/5. Fries never fail, especially the ones that come with a sauce. • Chicken Shish ⭐️ 4.8/5. This is my favorite haha the chicken is soft and easy to chew. It's served with rice, red cabbage, and some kind of green chili. • Lamb Shish, didn't try it. • Lamb Chop, didn't try it. • Adana Kebab, didn't try it. • Beef Kofte ⭐️ 4.5/5. It's good, because it's minced beef. Since the kofte is dry, eating it with the sauce will enhance the taste. • Rice Pudding ⭐️ 4/5. Interesting, the taste is like a sticky rice. • Baklava ⭐️ 4/5. Really sweet with bits of pistachio, one baklava is more than enough (because of the sweetness). • Lemonade ⭐️ 5/5. Love it, nothing to complain. • Turkish Coffee, didn't try it but it's really small—mind you. The size of glass for doing shots and the price is 150 NTD. My lemonade is cheaper~
Overall, the place is worth it, definitely will order chicken shish again next time. The staff are friendly and helpful. Cool decoration, mosaic lamp everywhere, they also have some cute...
