It's truly indeed one of the best soymilk and bread buns in Taipei!!! This shop is recommended by one blogger who made a list of best soymilk in Taipei. Too bad Google Maps reviews rate it low but don't let it fool you. Early morning or during rush hours in the morning they're always jam-packed with customers (mostly people going to their jobs and drop by here to get their breakfast). The shop is just across 228 Peace Memorial Park west gate. After having my morning walk/jog, I drop by here to get soymilk for breakfast and red bean buns later for snacks paired with coffee. The buns are so very flaky and the bean filling is rich and very flavorful! Tried also the sesame sticks and yes crispy on the outside but soft on the inside! Only the grandpa one is serving the customers but also assisted by another person when they're not busy cooking/preparing the dishes.

This was my first Taiwanese Breakfast meal and I wished I ordered more food. This is a to-go place with a lot of locals and the line moves fast! They do have an English menu if you ask for it. Initially I was using the Google Translate app to read the menu. I am the typical visual menu orderer and so when the menu has no pictures I am obliviously nervous and scrambling through Google to see what everything looks like while there is a long line of people waiting to order. 😬 I ordered a scallion pancake wrap with egg, youtiao (Chinese donut) and it was great! The crunchy texture and flavors were perfect! I also ordered cold soy milk and that helped wash everything down. There is a park right across the street where I had my meal. I would definitely come back if I was nearby.

The namesake is yonghedoujiang which is a ubiquitous name but this is 大王 or big king - to differentiate it from the others. A bit of a local spot and iykyk. This is a takeout spot with fried youtiao doughnut and fresh soy milk. The combos are killer with baked crepe shaobing and youtiao and egg. You can stack your eggs as they assemble for you. They have steamed buns that can be used instead also. Their steamed milk is also customizable for unsweetened or sweet. The best part is the accessibility to the park across the street which means idly eating your breakfast on a park bench with a man make lake and some curious birds. Will remind you of GG park or Central Park or whatever park close to your house.

We got early morning to get to Yonghe Soy Milk King, but unfortunately, it was closed on Mondays. We had to take the bus to a different location which was takeout only. We ordered: Clay Oven Roll with Fried Bread Stick, Egg, Pork Chop (80 NTD),Clay Oven Roll with Fried Bread Stick, & Egg (60 NTD),Warm Soybean Milk (20 NTD), and Salted Soybean Milk with Fried Bread Stick (25 NTD).Love, watching everything being freshly made to order. The deep fried of the Fried Bread Stick to the Clay Oven Roll coming out the oven.We had to eat at the park next door, but it was the perfect weather out for it. Clay Oven Roll with Fried Bread Stick, Egg, & Pork Chop was my favorite. Everything was warm, savory & delicious. The Salted Soybean Milk was my wife's favorite. It was warm, sweet, & salty . The fried bread stick was perfect in it. The Warm Soybean Warm was simply tasty. Haven't found anything like...
