This is possibly one of my least favourite experiences at a restaurant in a long time. The owner of the restaurant barely knew how to give me any suggestions of what to order and his staff were even worse! they all appeared extremely uninterested, unhappy exhausted and almost looked as though they were forced to be at work against their will. The waitresses were extremely unattentive to any of the clients' needs. Any time a client asked for any additional items they would ALL drag their feet back and forth and had very unfriendly, unwelcoming and angry looks on their faces. This was undoubtedly among the most inferior examples of customer service I have ever witnessed. As for the dish I ordered, as can be seen in the picture I have added, (the chicken pilau), when I took a bite into the chicken and the rice there was absolutely no flavour! It was extremely bland and tasted as though there was no seasoning whatsoever - the chicken was just boiled for a bit. Although this restaurant is strategically located right on the water, I honestly would avoid going there because there so many other better options in the Stone Town area of zanzibar. I forced myself to eat the meal because I was tight on time, but otherwise I would have trashed it if I had more time to go elsewhere and get something better (its not hard to beat). Don't bother wasting your time or money here - you...
Read moreArchipelago is amazing. The food is delicious — they get their fish and fruit from Pemba Island, which is the highest quality of fish and fruit you can get here. I had their Cobia fish, and it was to die for. It was so juicy, tender, and flavourful - it was honestly the best white fish I have ever tasted. Their fruit salads are delicious - the papaya I had looked like a gemstone, and tasted just as good. They also make proper masala chai tea - perfectly spicy and creamy. The view from the restaurant is gorgeous. It looks upon a quiet and pretty beachfront, where there are rarely any tourists. The location is prime — a five-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the centre, so it’s accessible yet remains quiet and peaceful. I stayed in one of the rooms for a night, and it was perfect. The room was clean, spacious, aesthetic, and comfortable. Their sheets are unbelievably soft. I also had the pleasure of meeting Massood and Saadat, the owners, and they are extremely kind and welcoming, and have the highest standards for their establishment. I highly recommend Archipelago for everything - their food, rooms, and hospitality. Thank you very much for this...
Read moreBest Hotel in the Stone town. We enjoyed out time here very much. Very good located, right in the city center, so everything is reachable within walking distance. The best places in the area around to go out and see the local life. The quality of the service and value for money is excellent. The people were so nice, polite, smiling every time and also helped us a lot. You have really the best service here and keep going💪🏻. Many thanks to the owner of the hotel because he made our stay unforgetable and was very caring. Even at our check out we got the towels to the beach and after that we had oppurtunity to take a shower. Also the breakfast was amazing here, especially home made hot cinamon rolls and the view over the ocean. Only best recommendations, keep up the good work. Would give more as 5 stars, if it wpuld be possible. Greeting from Lithuania 🇱🇹 and...
