2 visits since their opening. Let me start with the staff: The staff is exquisite. From start to finish the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and catered to- both times. The decor is elegant, warm, and inviting, minus the giant television. It's a great space to meet family, friends, host a meeting, etc. What we ate: 1st visit we had the beef carpaccio, bruschetta, calamari rings, and beef medallion. The food was good, however the bread was not as fresh as it could have been for the bruschetta. That said it was a great first impression. 2nd visit- the food disappointing. We had the carpaccio again, and it was even better, the salad addition is great. My husband ordered a steak and sadly it was just a huge chunk of tendon, x 2. I ordered the seafood risotto and it was lack luster. The rice was too soft, the seafood overcooked, and the prawns were not fresh. Risotto is tricky, rice should be cooked separately and the seafood placed on top so that everything cooks to its requirement...not everything l cooked together. That said, the service was still 5 star and that made it ok. They are a new establishment so round 2 was a growing pain. We will go back again and I trust the 3rd time will be the charm. #whereintheworldarephilippeandpatrina #foodie #travelandadventure Follow our adventures on social: Instagram- TikTok: @2ps_outapod FB- @PhilippePatrina (2ps_outapod)

Old Castle Zanzibar is an amazing restaurant that truly captures the vibrant spirit of the old town area. Conveniently located by the roadside, it is easy to find and even easier to fall in love with. The interior of the castle is steeped in a unique charm that enhances the overall dining experience. The atmosphere at Old Castle Zanzibar is one of the highlights. The vibes are both relaxing and invigorating, making it a perfect spot for any occasion. The food and service are unbeatable, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with warmth and professionalism. A special thanks to Sapan, the outlet manager, and Executive Chef Rehman for their exceptional work. Their dedication and attention to detail shine through in every aspect of the restaurant, from the meticulously prepared dishes to the flawless service. Old Castle Zanzibar is more than just a place to eat; it is an experience that delights all the senses. Whether you are a local or a tourist, it is a must-visit destination in Zanzibar.

The food was just amazing. We ordered the Cesar salad, Roasted Beef, Butter Chicken and Sizzling Brownie. Apart from the Cesar salad which is pretty standard for its price, everything else surprised me as to just how tasty it is, especially the sizzling brownie. The staff were really nice and apart from a little black out power wise (which is honnestly pretty common in tanzania) everything was amazing. The owner is also really REALLY nice, offering us to open a little earlier to make the brownie for me again as we have to leave (yes it was so good I just had to have it again before leaving). It is a little higher on the price compared to other local restaurents but I'd say it's 100% worth it. Definetly recommend to any traveler who's looking for a fancy restaurant experience but not as expensive as it usually is in North America or Europe.
