Five star food - five star location - two star staff and service. Be prepared TO PAY IN CASH WITH BILLS NEWER THEN 2009?!? Very bizarre.

We came here on Christmas Eve for a treat and the food was delicious - check out the pictures. Between the five of us we had a run through the menu, from crab soup to wings, spicy shrimp, crab cake, lobster roll. Topped off with ice cream shakes and dessert.

Okay the beers were fine and reasonably priced. However, the gin and tonic I ordered was charged as a double, and it most certainly was NOT two shots of gin - nor was it BOMBAY sapphire as advertised/charged. Whatever, this is what happens in a country that doesn’t drink… but to charge me for two tonic waters is just silly…

The service was okay, but we had to ask for everything at least twice. The bill took forever and when we finally got it, about twenty minutes to sort out payment, because the credit card machine won’t work. I know this is Africa but this is also the Hilton?! Then I paid in cash only to have two twenty dollar bills rejected because the date on them was 2004 - what ?!? Hilton needs to get a handle on this, this is...

Very good food offered in Taarab restaurant which is inside double tree by Hilton hotel. The entrance to the hotel is hidden in a small tight alley betwen the houses.

The food selection is quite diverse, you can find fish, chicken, meat, and even vegan, so you won't have a problem here. The local dishes are tasty, but don't expect the same with the international dishes. The pasta, the hummus, and the cold mezze was just fine.

The service is good, but could be better. One time we had to wait 40 minutes to get our vegetarian food served. When we asked, they said the kitchen is busy, although only 4 tables out of 10 were occupied. But it's ok, sometimes people are "pole pole" here...

The worst seafood restaurant experience in my entire life!

I came here reading all these good review and literally this restaurant is a nightmare. I ordered crab soup and seafood platter, the most expensive plate on the menu, and drinks. Foods came out after 40 mins and it’s COLD and STALE. It’s left over from the day before. I can taste the staleness of the seafoods and decided to leave most uneaten. Its a crime to serve this. I almost felt disrespected that ppl can serve that to me. I left it uneaten after trying to swallow a few. Paid in full. Never go back. Do yourself a favor! DO NOT EAT HERE. And shame on you people who give this place 4-5 stars… its...
