Atmosphere was decent though we could not make out the story with the gold and abacus hanging off the walls. It’s air conditioned, which was why we decided to visit it after our dinner for deserts. The service staff were alright.
The prices are most definitely on the high side, we paid 1,300ish THB just for desserts, and unfortunately we could not appreciate any of them. The coconut water was off the packets, not fresh ones. The Thai milk tea ice cream which was recommended by the service lady was awful, to me, way too bitter. That said I’ll give it credit that it’s creamy enough. The ah nee was way too dry and hard to swallow. The durian ice cream was the only one that I could eat without gagging.
It felt like a restaurant that’s not meant for asians who doesn’t know what good meant to taste like for these dishes and “interesting” and unique enough for westerners.
Will not return, and will not recommend unless you’re willing to pay for just the...
Read moreI’m gonna give huge credits to the beautiful interior and decorations here! Really brings out the great vibe of Chinatown in remarkable Thailand! The service was fast and super friendly and I had a good time ! It was also a nice break from all of the Thai food we ate hahah
But sadly, the price was x 3 of what we usually spent per meal. The Thai milk tea was super average, and the egg noodle tasted too eggy/starchy, which was a no for me. The roast duck was okay, though some commenters raved about it.
But I DO highly recommend the fried rice with tomatoes. It might be one of the best fried rice I have eaten in my life! Eve try bite was super fragrant and bursting with flavours! It is really delicious and worth every penny. As for the rest, it was just super average and not worth the price.
But still, it was a nice experience! Also had a good photo taking session due to its beautiful interior design! Not bad to try...
Read moreHaving studied the Michelin guide for options, Chop Chop Cook Shop stood out and, upon visiting, it didn't disappoint. We ordered the roast duck soup, BBQ pork, rice, Drunken clams, two beers and finished it off with the Shwe Yin Aye dessert. The roast duck and BBQ pork were so flavourful and extremely delicious, while the drunken clams, cooked in wine, were exceptional and packed with herbs and spices. We didn't know what to expect from the Shwe Yin Aye, but it was a pleasant dessert. Not too sweet and with lots of enjoyable chewy and crunchy textures. Staff were super attentive and the atmosphere was relaxed, although I would've preferred the lighting not to be so red. Coming in at 1989 Baht, it wasn't the cheapest meal out but, for Michelin quality it was very reasonable. Would absolutely recommend...
