My last day in Chiang Mai and I craved the best breakfast to send me off with a smile. Enter Cafe de Thaan Aoan, a charming cafe boasting both Thai specialities and Western staples. While service was a bit on the slow side, the wait was absolutely worth it. Every bite was bursting with flavor! The green curry fried rice had the perfect kick of spice, and the Koi Soi chicken, a northern specialty I couldn't resist, was tender and flavorful. But Cafe de Thaan Aoan isn't just about Thai. Their pancakes were fluffy and light, and the sandwiches were generously filled with fresh ingredients. It's the perfect place to satisfy any morning craving. The indoor-outdoor seating adds to the cafe's charm. Whether you soak up the sun on the patio or find a cozy spot inside, the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Sure, the service could be a tad quicker, but the quality of the food and the overall ambience easily make up for it. Quick Bites: Highlights: Green curry fried rice, Khao Soi chicken, pancakes Atmosphere: Relaxed and inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating Service: A bit slow, but friendly Overall: Delicious food and a charming atmosphere make this cafe a winner Tip: If you're visiting during peak hours, be prepared for a bit of a wait. But trust me, the food is worth it!

Cafe de Thaan Aoan is an absolute gem in the heart of Chiang Mai! Perfectly situated near some of the city's top yoga studios, it’s an ideal spot to rejuvenate after a blissful sound bath session. This cozy cafe blends traditional Thai charm with modern comfort, offering a tranquil escape for anyone seeking a quiet yet inspiring atmosphere. The menu is diverse and delicious, but their smoothies are truly standout – fresh, vibrant, and made with top-quality ingredients that hit the spot on a warm Chiang Mai day. Whether you're a fan of tropical blends or more unique creations, there's something for everyone. Their breakfast options and Thai dishes are also exceptional, showcasing authentic flavors with a touch of artistry. What makes Cafe de Thaan Aoan even more special is its unique vibe. On any given day, you might spot patrons immersed in 19th-century French science fiction – a genre that intriguingly influenced the latest Godzilla and King Kong movie. The fusion of literary exploration and culinary delight makes this cafe an unforgettable experience. It's not just a place to eat or drink; it’s where culture, creativity, and delicious cuisine intersect. Highly recommended!

Traveling in Thailand with a severe nut allergy has been both daunting and challenging, especially when it comes to trying new foods. However, this restaurant completely exceeded my expectations. I reached out to them via Instagram before visiting, and they assured me they would do their best to accommodate my allergy based on what I wanted to try. When we arrived, our waitress, Folk, took my allergy very seriously. She personally checked with the kitchen to ensure everything was safe for me and recommended the khao soi as a safe option. Not only was the dish absolutely delicious, but the care and attention Folk provided made the experience truly unforgettable. We loved the food and service so much that we returned every day during our stay! Each time, Folk greeted us warmly and continued to ensure my dining experience was worry-free. She was the star of the show, and her dedication, along with the kindness of the owner and staff, made our visits so special. I can’t thank them all enough! Disclaimer - every allergy is different, this worked for me.

discovered this place by chance last year as we initially intended to visit See You Soon next door, but it happened to be closed that day. stumbling upon this place was definitely a happy accident! a perfect breakfast spot complete with outdoor seating, allowing you to enjoy your breakfast in the cool morning air. indoor seats are available as well if that’s what you’d prefer! reliable meals and we definitely don’t have any complaints. you’ve got the choice of a pancake or two, depending on how hungry you are. the pancakes were excellent and we were amazed at how they could’ve made them so thick while still being fluffy! fruits are fresh as expected in Chiang Mai. staff are so friendly as well and service is superb. we visited twice during our trip, both times for breakfast :) huuuuge menu and you’re definitely spoiled for choice. recommend to visit! great music too and friendly people.

A perfect spot to go for a chill afternoon with friends... and maybe for breakfast too! Come here if you want to treat your inner child. They have a wide range menu but everything you wanted to try as a kid would be here for dessert! Our favorite would be Pancakes and vanilla ice cream, khao soi (wow!), coffee & Thai iced green tea, then Tuna sandwich! The coffee tastes really decent for a local cafe and could par with high pricing coffees. The vibe of the place is ok, comfortable and really nice. We really like something woody for a place. The crew are friendly and can communicate well in English too. The location is very accessible. You can park at the side of the road. Very very nice and would come back again!

We stumbled upon this place for lunch and came back for dinner the same day it was that good! It’s a shame we found it on our last day in Chiang Mai. We had vegetarian spring rolls, vegetarian pad see ew, vegetarian khoa soi and sweet & sour chicken. The food was incredible. The service is above and beyond - the staff speak really good English and have good energy. Our waiter talked me through how spicy to have my Khao Soi as I don’t like spice and it was perfect. They even have mosquito spray on the tables to use. The menu is extensive with breakfasts, milkshakes, English food and Thai food. Lots of vegetarians options. Would recommend 100%.
