All I can say is WOW!!

We recently ate at Deck One and it was INCREDIBLY good. This is a hidden gem in Chiang Mai, and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits! Some of the items on the menu are unmatched anywhere else!!!

For drinks, we ordered the Lemonade Honeycomb and Monmai on their Signature Beverage list. Both were awesome, and we would totally order again, but that Monmai…one of the best drinks I have ever had. Such a unique flavor and so refreshing! 🤩

For main menu items, we ordered Hunglay Spice Rubbed Pork Ribs, Fried Shrimp Caesar Salad, and Fish and Chips. The caesar salad and fish and chips were pretty good, not as good as other places, so I would maybe not recommend them, but MAN were the pork ribs good!

The Hunglay Spice Rubbed Pork Ribs were wonderfully-flavored, fall-off-the-bone pork ribs with a unique combination of Thai spices. They were absolutely incredible. You didn’t even need a knife to cut them! They were some of the best ribs I have ever had (and this is literally coming from an American) - so well done, Deck One! I will definitely be ordering that again!!

Finally, for dessert, we got a Sticky Date Cake and Thai Tea Crème Brûlée. The Sticky Date Cake was awesome, but the Crème Brûlée was on another level. It might be my new favorite dessert ever!! I absolutely love Thai tea, and this is a really good Thai tea, but in crème brûlée form! What’s not to love about that?!

When I come here again, I’d get the Monmai, Hunglay Spice Rubbed Pork Ribs, and the Thai Tea Crème Brûlée. That is a PERFECT lunch/dinner right there. Definitely come visit Deck One and try...

To say I was a little disappointed would be an understatement. Yes, it's nice to sit outside and watch the river. Yes, the seating is comfortable. It was a bit underwhelming.

The staff were pleasant, when they eventually appeared. And there were a lot of them, just not giving service. We weren't asked if we required drinks. Condiments had to be asked for from the passing waiter I had to wave down. We weren't asked if we required anything extra after our meals. They never came to check on us and we were there 2 hours.

We ordered the Spaghetti with Spicy Northern Sausage and the Fish and Chips. The spaghetti was of OK size and yes, very spicy. I do not understand how the chips, frozen crinkle cut, could be larger then the fish. 5 tiny pieces.

It was expensive for what we got. It was...

Location and prompt arrival of our meals save this review from being a one star. The food itself, however, was the least memorable of our 7-day trip in Thailand. In fact, we’ve definitely had better food from our local Thai takeaway in London. Most disappointing was the service - which was devoid for 30 minutes while we waited for plates to be cleared, wine to be served and bill to arrive. Restaurant wasn’t busy; only 10% full. Staff were plentiful but seemed very tentative - not realising what to do. Raised the issue with the Manager who insisted we pay service charge. We’re normally pretty chilled, forgiving customers, but won’t be...

The restaurant is good, a nice location alongside the Ping River. The food is good and the Thai tea crème brûlée was excellent. Some comments, however — the main courses were brought at different times, about 7 minutes apart. This should not happen in a decent restaurant. Also, the red wine was served chilled — for me that should not be the case for red wine. Finally, there was no steak knife for the lamb and instead my traveling companion had to use a butter knife. This restaurant could be so much better with a few minor tweaks but it’s with a visit while you are in Chiang Mai.
