Plenty of choices BUT ⚠️There was a big communication gap between the lady who was in charge of ordering, and the cook, even though they both speak Thai. For people who don't speak Thai and have something you can't eat: Consider not to order something you're 100% sure how they make it.
I didn't want to waste food at all, I tried to eat it but it was really too spicy for me to have the dish. Due to the bad communication between the ordering lady and the cook.
I confirmed many times with the ordering lady if I can change the noodle (with yellow curry) into rice, she said yes, and asked me how spicy I want it to be, I asked her if we can make it not spicy, she also said yes.
When I received my food, it was noodles, and full of chilli seeds, which was spicy. I checked with the lady about the rice and chilli, she said they didn't have rice that day and it's not spicy. But it was actually very spicy. Of course, it was full of chilli seeds. The cook was angry and rushed out to me when the lady checked with her, "If it's CURRY, it's SPICY! Yellow curry, green curry, massaman curry, spicy! " But in fact, yellow curry I've tried in other places, was sweet and not spicy at all, that's why it was always a safe option for me. And if they only cook spicy yellow curry here, the ordering lady should had told me, and should not tell me they can make it not spicy. From the beginning to the end, I was speaking politely with friendly attitude, can't really understand why the cook treated the customer like this. They didn't apologize nor try to make up for it, I paid for the dish even though I couldn't eat it because of their mistake. Not coming back if the cook is always like this, the food get influenced if the maker has issues inside and bring it...
Read moreOur recent visit to Mild Kitchen in Chiang Mai was unfortunately disappointing. As a family of five, we were eager to enjoy some local flavors, but the experience fell short of our expectations.
Food Quality: We ordered Khao Soi, red curry, a noodle soup and some more, but none of the dishes had the vibrant flavors we had come to love in Chiang Mai. The Khao Soi lacked the rich, aromatic broth that is typically a highlight of this dish, and the red curry was surprisingly bland. Even the noodle soup failed to impress, leaving us wishing for more seasoning and depth of flavor.
Service and Atmosphere: While the staff were not rude, the service felt somewhat detached and unwelcoming compared to other places we’ve dined at in Chiang Mai. We expected a warm atmosphere that is often characteristic of local eateries, but it felt more clinical than cozy.
Mosquito Issue: Additionally, we encountered a significant mosquito problem during our meal. This made it uncomfortable to enjoy our food, detracting from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. In summary, Mild Kitchen did not meet our expectations for authentic Thai cuisine or hospitality. We left feeling unsatisfied and...
Read moreThe highest praise from an omnivore, I enjoyed it. I came in for Indian but they were only offering Thai dishes. I went with the papaya salad and tofu massaman curry. Everything seemed made to order as I heard the grating of the papaya and saw the cook puring in coconut milk to the curry. When my papaya shake arrived she announced no sugar added as I tend to avoid refined sugar. The curry was thinner than I would like, but still flavorful. I wanted more tofu but there were plenty of accompanying veggies.
Nicely shaded under a tree. A family owned business so don't be in a rush. I enjoyed it so much I came back for a yogurt to go. Afterwards, I felt full and not heavy/bogged down. Vegetarians enjoy and the rest of us can enjoy good food...
