Rise Rooftop Bar — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

The burger was pretty decent considering it was on a tapas menu. Whenever I see the word 'tapas' on a menu I assume I'm about to have a light snack, but this was a full-sized, tasty burger. The down side was our service for sure. I expect to be greeted kindly in Thailand. Especially at a fancy place like Rise Rooftop Bar. Instead my friend and I felt pretty put off. I think this bar should make a decision about allowing outside guest or not. If they are going to keep allowing outsiders then perhaps they should explain the setup when people arrive. Our experience was really poor. The bar tender just kept staring at us like we were going to steal something. I spent over a thousand baht in around an hour thinking that it might help comfort the staff. I totally understand they have limited space and don't want people to just chill there and spend like 80 bath. However, my free spending didn't seem to make a difference. We just took off rather than hangout where we were clearly not welcome. Would not recommend visiting this bar unless you are a guest...

Rise is a lovely private and cosy rooftop delight right in the heart of the Nimman district. Happy hour every day from 6pm with 2-4-1 specials on cocktails and beer. Unfortunately wine isn't included in this offer. The view is unmistakably picturesque with 280 degree views of Nimman, Doi Suthep, Doi Saket and the surrounding areas. The only let down here is the speed to which the staff attend to your orders and check on you. If you're sitting on the upper deck to appreciate the view, it may take time for staff to notice that you need something. The beer was ice cold, the wine was fresh and the bar snacks were plentiful. I highly encourage you to come here for sunset and enjoy the view. With room enough for around 30 people comfortably, Rise offers you an almost private bar with your own sunset show that has you watch as Doi Suthep changes color and the soft breezes blow through to keep you cool as you sip on...

Dark, dingy, dangerous, overpriced. 8pm Poor lighting, and danger of toppling when walking up stairs for sky view. Hold wall when descending, cause steps are not visible. Limited seating, maybe 30 max. Pina Colada very poor, not authentic, squirty cream on top of pineapple juice, and mojito, both no alcohol strength. Happy hour prices 2 for 1, still overpriced and ++ makes it probably most expensive in Chiang Mai. Not worth the effort. Poor view at night.
