Horrible experience. The worst coffee date in 7,5 months Thailand. We are staying in the neighborhood for a while and wanted to try this place out, because it’s quite busy a lot of times. We found out they won some prices with their coffee so that’s probably what the fuss is about. The coffee was oké, not so outstanding as one would expect. The fact that mine was served in test tubes wasn’t making it a better coffee. The thing that really made it an unpleasant visit was the lack of and rude service. When we greeted the man who was cleaning the table we went to sit at (in Thai), he responded with; Hmmm, and looked the other way. After that he never came back to help us. I had to walk around and search for a menu, trying to get someone to help us etc. Then I found out that -even if there were enough people working- you have to order at the bar. What happens it that at the very small bar which is directly behind the entrance door there starts to develop a situation where people are standing packed like sardines at a square meter to order. If everyone could just stay at their table it wouldn’t be messy like this. The people who work here seem to be very bored and quite arrogant. It’s a coffee shop for god sake, get of your high horse and just let people have a joyful coffee break. That’s so un-Thai by the way. Even after asking the bill they never came with it, so after a while we put the money on the table and went home. At the moment we walked on the street a guy ran outside to stop us. I told him that we had payed and that it was ironic this was the only moment during our visit someone could find us. To make a long story short; it’s a lot of hot air that they sell and it’s in my top 1 of places I would not...
Read moreGreat vibe to this place in the hip Nimman district. Definitely a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee.
They have a passion for coffee and geek out pretty hard. There’s plenty of literature in very good english on the menu. Their coffee was good (I come from Portland, Oregon the land of amazing coffee) and nice latte art. Can’t go wrong with a crafted latte at around 3 usd. You’re given a board/serving tray with information about the beans that were used in your cup even. Nice touch.
Logistics: you sit down at a table and they bring you a menu. If you want to get their attention, simply make eye contact with one of the people and they will come right over, otherwise they won’t just bring you your bill when you’re finished with your cup, which is nice that they’re not rushing you out in a crowded cafe.
There’s a little bakery connected but a separate business that you can order pastries from. A piece of banana bread was 75baht. I think some reviewers’ comments on receiving their food slow was directed at that place, not ristr8to.
Great atmosphere to do some writing or get some editing done on photos as it’s off the main road by one block with very little...
Read moreRoast8ry Lab in Chiang Mai is a must-visit for coffee lovers. From the moment you step inside, you can tell this isn’t just another café—it’s a place dedicated to the art of coffee. The minimalist, modern design creates a sleek yet inviting atmosphere, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air.
The coffee itself is phenomenal. Their selection of beans and brewing methods is impressive, catering to both casual coffee drinkers and true connoisseurs. I tried their signature pour-over, and it was one of the smoothest, most flavorful cups I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced with rich, complex notes. Their espresso-based drinks are equally impressive, showcasing their expertise in roasting and extraction.
The baristas are knowledgeable and passionate, always happy to recommend a brew based on your preferences. Service is quick and friendly, even when the place is busy (which it often is, for good reason).
If you’re serious about coffee or just want to enjoy a high-quality cup in a stylish setting, Roast8ry Lab is the place to go. It’s easily one of the best coffee spots...
