For the Owner*. I have been going to your CMU location for 4 yrs. Thought I would try this location. Wow, just horrible. Sign outside says cool inside, actually it was boiling hot inside cannot get any work done. Never at CMU was I asked 4x if I want ice in my drink at a cost of 10b, eventhough the drink is already 85b, that's not cheap. Drink comes is absolutely tiny. It was like day and night compared to CMU. However at both locations barely any English eventhough 75% of people visiting are not Thai. It seems like Stories has chosen the route of tourism, less value, less product, but charge the same. Almost everyone around me was waiting at least 30mins for simple food. The whole atmosphere was stressful and people weren't happy. To owner, please try to improve the place. Instead of hiring 8 underskill staff hire 4 with high skills. The busiest Old Town café in prime location opposite Thapae gate, is a bright, cool refuge from the heat and has very good coffees at surprisingly reasonable prices. A flat white goes for 65 Bt. Another positive aspect is the fact that their iced coffees come in glasses instead of the usual plastic cups. Thumbs up for that. Seeing how popular this place is, I don't really understand their need to fish for good Google reviews by giving discounts for writing one. It's something I really don't agree with and I hope they'll stop this. As for the reply to my review, I'd like to say that I'm in no way negative, and I even gave an honest five star review. And I'm all for encouraging people to write reviews about their experiences. What I don't agree about is fishing for 5 star reviews with discounts.
