This is a hidden gem. I stayed at a hotel next to this restaurant and was looking for Thai food. I’m so glad I found this on Google maps. It is located inside Jam Factory which is within a few minutes walking distance from IconSiam and 3 minutes walk from Khlong San pier. So although it is hidden, it is very easily accessible. The interior of the restaurant is very welcoming and it has very high ceiling. The only thing is the air condition is not strong enough. Perhaps if you sit in the middle of the restaurant it might be better. We went on a Saturday and made a reservation. When we got there it was not full but there are many diners. After the meal, I’m surprised why it wasn’t full. There were 5 of us (3 adults and 2 children). All the dishes we ordered are delicious. Tom Yum Goong clear soup was authentic with the right level of spicy and sourness are on point though if you can’t take spicy food you can ask for it to be lowered. Deep fried whole barramundi with spicy Thai sauce was extremely tender and my daughter loved it (without the sauce). I found the sauce a little too sweet but the green chilli sauce that they served on the sides went very well with the fish. Prawn omelette was very fragrant and full of umami. It is a pretty huge serving so we couldn’t finish it. Stir fried morning glory was crunchy and tasty. Fried rice with pork was ordered for the kids and they loved it. It wasn’t too oily and is lightly flavored. Pork jowl was the star of the show. It was extremely tender and goes perfectly with the sweet sauce. This is one of the best grilled pork jowls I’ve ever had. My son who rarely eats pork loved it so much. Caution: they have a very extensive menu everything looks so good! It wasn’t easy deciding what to eat. Many of the items are not what we see in typical Thai...
Read moreThis eatery certainly lives up to its name. One of the more creative use of an old warehouse whereby its converted into a cool indoor avery of sorts that's filled with ferns and plants. Very good conservation job actually. They have managed to retain the old brick/concrete walls and woods overhead news thereby giving it a still rustic look.
Foodwide, the eatery is headed by a young female chef, delivering solid modern Thai cuisine. You will still recognise the traditional Thai dishes yet given a new twist n presented in a delightful way. The grilled Kurobota pork is absolutely yummilicious! Perfect combination of juicy meat with the right amount of fats and grilled with a Japanese tasting sauce. The squid served tempura style is another must have dish. Lovely combination of peppercorn/chilli n Thai herbs. The stew beef in green curry was awesome. Tender pieces of beef served in intense curry! Can't wait to visit again and try the other dishes.
Easiest way to get to this absolute hidden gem is by boat. Take the Hilton boat from Sathorn Pier (Saphan Taksin BTS station). Once reached the hotel jetty across the river, turn right and walk along a public path for 5min....
Read moreAfter a journey which involves walking, taking the BTS train and a ferry crossing over Bangkok’s famous river… our group of 7 was very excited and looking forward to our lunch. The expectations were high. All of us are experienced travellers, very well versed with Thai cuisine and taste. Upon arrival, the cavernous dining room was empty! Perhaps only two tables were occupied. The restaurant touts itself as genuine Thai cuisine. We ordered quite a selection as we eagerly expected to experience a sensational meal. Alas… what was delivered can only be regarded as average. Crab omelette had the crab meat on top and not inside the omelette. Hence you tasted the meat without the consolidation of the eggs to give it that extra flavour. I could go on and on but I wouldn’t…! Finally the bill arrived… we were stunned beyond belief. Service was good as staff tried their best. There’s literally no atmosphere as you’re sitting in what looked like a warehouse…. Nothing really justifies the figure...
