I expected a nice dinner and nice views. What I received was a profound and unexpected gift of complete serenity.

As the elegant teak barge pulled away from the dock, the chaotic hum of the city simply melted away. Our recent experience with the Apsara Cruise was unfortunately below expectations.

Upon arrival, we were informed that the route had to change due to high water levels, which prevented the boat from passing under the bridges to see Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. While this situation is understandable and beyond the hotel’s control, the overall handling of the evening left much to be desired.

The boarding welcome was warm, but we were assigned a table right at the entrance where people walked past us constantly, which disrupted the dining experience. Despite the beautiful setting and ambiance, service issues quickly became noticeable. Our group of four was seated with only two sets of cutlery and napkins, while the other two had none. Staff provided incorrect information about the drink list, and several aspects of service felt disorganized and lacking common sense.

Even though the boat was not at full capacity, service was slow and inconsistent. Many tables, including ours, were left waiting for basic service needs. This created the impression that the staff was unable to manage the experience smoothly.
