Muu Gata (Thai Style BBQ) which is becoming a rarity within the Sukhumvit area, is still available here. (Many places only have Chim Chum, which use the same ingredients but is a different style.)
Photo doesn't do much justice at all as it was taken before the food arrived, but this place is very busy with the locals, people who just finished a day or night of work, and a favorite get together/hanging-out with Thai coworkers place, Menu has No English so bring along someone who can speak and read Thai, the staff generally take care of you Thai style so don't expect any red carpet treatment, don't judge, bring an empty mind and stomach and you're set to have a wonderful time with a feast to match.
Lovely place, there's some music played through somewhere but the Entertainment is up to the people who you're with.
Talking, drinking, eating, it's all Human Interaction baby, so leave your mobile phones in your pockets and Bust a Move by doing the Social thing Manually, without any Manuals.

Read moreI highly recommend this restaurant for mukata, Thai-style barbecued pork, and chim chum, vegetables and pork boiled in an earthen pot in Bangkok.
It is about a 10-minute drive north on Sukhumvit Soi 63, also known as Ekamai Road, from Ekamai BTS station. However, please note that it may take 20 to 30 minutes on weekends and evenings due to heavy traffic.
The best dishes at this restaurant are mukata and chim chum, but the other Thai dishes are also very good, and the som tam and kom yang are worth trying. The fresh shrimp is also very tasty.
Prices are very inexpensive, and you can eat a full meal for only 300-400 baht per person, even with beer and other drinks.
Most of the waiters do not speak English, so if you do not speak Thai, use a translator application on your cell phone to communicate.
Overall, the taste, service, and price make this restaurant worth a visit. Highly...
Read moreAn open air restaurant near our place in Thong Lo Soi 20. We came here by accident on the search for a local place to eat. Away from the Farang places in Thong Lo and Ekkamai. The English menu card help a lot in the ordering process. Clean place helpful and friendly staff and I must say the Tom Yam Kung is really great. A very well balanced soup between sour spicy and tasty. The ingredients fresh - one of the best Tom yum's I have had. A pork liver dish also really good. The liver prepared to a very nice tender point. Careful this is spicy. A nice omelette and fried rice rounded up the meal. Do not expect anything fancy it is a local restaurant which today on a Friday evening was fully occupied. Personally I believe this is an...
