I am sorry to go against the trend here and post a negative review. I have been driving 2 hours from outside Bangkok to eat here and I was so excited. Finally I will for sure not come back and go home with a bitter taste of disappointment.
First the place itself. You have a climatized area where you can go inside, for me it was not really clear in the beginning that this part belongs to the restaurant and nobody helps us out. After sitting inside for 10 minutes I finally stood up and went outside to ask for the menu. 2 Staff were there. One masculine cook and a female helper, she was also in charge of the service.
The room itself is sad, unpleasant and looks weird. You feel like inside, the goal was just to place a boy with an aircon. No Brazilian ambiance nor touch in the decoration. I just care about the place. The server also did not understand that well, was cold and not smiling.
We finally ordered: Feijoada, Picanha and Guarana. The Guarana was for sure it was no longer good, probably out of its validity date. Impossible to drink. For me it is also largely overpriced: 130THB. The Feijoada had way too much water and the broth in which it was cooked was watery, transparent and not tasteful. Also the Picanha was under average, looks like it was fried in a pan. Overall I don’t understand why so many people are amazed by this place. Guys: please compare to other places, other brazilian restaurants over the world or in Brazil. This one is just an unorganized and cheap try to serve a vibe of Brazil that isn’t there and never was.
For me it’s not just in the plate it’s the ambiance itself that made the...
Read moreThe place looks almost like a food court, love it! No fancy atmosphere, just good and very well priced food.
The steak is very well made, serving a choice of tapioca fried, rice or sausage (and some additional sides that I didn't pay too much attention to.) The picanha start at just 310 THB and even the most premium option is just 340 THB! The other food items in this restaurant aren't exactly expensive but the picanha steak just demolished them all in term of value!!
I ordered a little more side. One of them is a pie of sort with bread-like casing and grounded beef inside. It was good but nothing exciting. The other one, however, was like a croquette but made from some sort of a batter with chicken filling instead. Despite being a savoury menu, they seem to incorporate some vanilla flavour into the dish! That was very fun, love the unabashed quirkiness they have in their dish.
Solid 10/10, fully recommended. Great food, good value, and offer many of a unique dishes you can't easily...
Read moreThe place can be hard to find as it is on the second floor of a tiny mall. It's to the right of the 711, and across the street from Highland Cafe.
As a Brazilian I have to say that I am surprised how well they were able to make the food. The taste is very similar to what you would get in Brazil. The feijoada is great, even if they don't have access to all the meats used in Brazil. The picanha was also very good. Original Brazilian taste and good meat quality. You can choose to have it with rice or yuca (mandioca). We also tried the coxinha and the dadinho, which were good.
They also sell a few Bazilian goods.
We'll definitely be coming back here during the rest of our...
