🍣 Enjoyed dinner at Doraya tonight, located on the 3nd floor of Staybridge Suites Sukhumvit 24 (Neighbour 24 Community Mall, with a'big cat'statue outside). It’s a great dining option if you’re passing through Soi 24: easy to access, relaxed atmosphere, and full of character.
This restaurant is a paradise for bluefin tuna lovers 🐟🎀, with an extensive selection of toro-focused dishes. As a first-time visitor, I tried their Kaisen Don (seafood rice bowl) and was genuinely impressed. The seafood was fresh and flavorful 😋. A few things I really appreciated from this bowl are: 1) Offering option to customize the seafood toppings 👐 🐟🐚🐟🦪🍣 on the Kaisen Don, not often seen in even many traditional Japanese restaurants in Bangkok. 2) Another small but meaningful detail was the wooden spoon 🥄 and the touch of seasonal flower petals 🌸. It made the meal (rice) not only easier to enjoy, but also more beautiful and memorable (and still balanced cultutal presentation). Thoughtful touches like these truly elevate the dining experience ✨
I also noticed the restaurant’s tableware and ceramics 🥢🍵 are probably carefully chosen. From the rice bowls to the dessert dishes and teacups, everything felt elegant and refined - like handcrafted pottery. The textures were smooth and pleasant to hold, adding a subtle but powerful sense of comfort and care. It’s a quiet kind of thoughtfulness that many places overlook, but it left a lasting impression.
🍱 Doraya specializes in Hon Maguro (本鮪), and their menu includes educational pages explaining different cuts and species—perfect for tuna fans and Japanese food lovers who appreciate authenticity.
The space isn't very large, but it feels intimate and welcoming. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole dining experience smooth and pleasant. Hotel guests can enjoy a 5% discount, which is a nice perk.
⏰ Peak hours seem to be around 6–8 PM, so I’d recommend arriving a bit earlier if you want to avoid the crowd. Also, good to know, Doraya has 3 other branches in Hong Kong, and this Bangkok location maintains the same standard of quality and hospitality.
Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic yet stylish Japanese dining in the heart of...

Read moreA small restaurant with warm service. I ordered the grilled Unagi rice set. The sauce had a rather strong and intense flavor, so if you like bold and salty tastes, you might enjoy it. The eel had a firm and chewy texture, making it suitable for those who like a bit of bite. The Otoro was fairly fresh. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience, and I was impressed with...
