A Local Legend — Rung Rueng Pork Noodles is a Must-Visit in Bangkok!

If you’re in Bangkok and looking for an authentic local food experience, Rung Rueng Pork Noodle is one place you absolutely can’t miss. This humble noodle shop has been around for decades, and once you take your first bite, you’ll immediately understand why it’s so beloved by both locals and tourists alike.

The star of the show is the pork noodle—offered in soup or dry versions, with your choice of noodles (I personally loved the thin egg noodles). The broth is incredibly rich and flavorful, simmered to perfection with deep pork flavors but still light enough to sip till the very last drop. It’s not too salty, not too oily—just a perfect balance of taste and comfort.

The dry noodle version is equally satisfying, tossed with a slightly tangy and spicy sauce, topped with crushed peanuts and bits of crispy pork lard that give it that irresistible texture. The pork slices are tender, the meatballs are bouncy and flavorful, and the liver is fresh and perfectly cooked—none of that grainy or overcooked texture you sometimes find elsewhere.

What I also appreciated is how fast and efficient everything was. Despite the long line, the staff handled everything quickly and with precision. You’ll usually be seated within minutes, and the food arrives piping hot almost instantly. They clearly know what they’re doing here—it’s a well-oiled machine of noodle perfection.

The place itself is clean and simple—don’t expect anything fancy, but that’s part of the charm. It’s straightforward, no-frills, and focused 100% on what matters: good food.

Prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality you’re getting. I ended up ordering a second bowl just because the first one was so good, and honestly, I could’ve gone for a third if I had more room.

Highly, highly recommend Rung Rueng to anyone visiting Bangkok. Whether you’re on a food hunt, just passing by Sukhumvit, or need a quick and satisfying meal, this spot delivers in every way. A true taste of Bangkok street food culture—simple, soulful, and...

I’ve been to this place over ten times, it’s one of my favorite noodle spots in Bangkok. (5/5) Rung Reung Noodles has two locations facing each other across the street, just a 10-minute walk from Phrom Phong BTS. Both shops use the same recipes, share staff, and taste exactly the same, the only difference is size. The left-side location has more tables, but I often go to the right-side one since it’s usually quieter. Just pick whichever one is less crowded when you arrive.

🍜 My go-to order: • Clear soup base • Medium rice noodles (sen lek) • Assorted toppings (includes pork slices, minced pork, offal, liver)

I love clean, pork-based broths, and theirs is exactly that! clear but rich, flavorful without being heavy. The minced pork in particular is incredible. So juicy, savory, and perfectly seasoned that I often find myself thinking about it later. The offal is also well-prepared and clean-tasting

🥄 My perfect seasoning combo (after many tries): • 1.5 spoons of pickled chili vinegar (prik nam som) • A tiny pinch of chili flakes I skip sugar, fish sauce, and crushed peanuts. I usually eat half the bowl with no seasoning to enjoy the original broth, and then spice up the second half! it’s like getting two bowls in one.

📦 Grab delivery tip: If you order via Grab, the noodles will arrive in plastic bags, not containers, so you’ll need a bowl to eat from.

🥤 Drinks: The orange juice is decent. The longan juice was a bit too sweet for me. Honestly, the noodles are the main event.

🍜 Portion tip: The small size is very small. The price difference between sizes is just 10 baht, so I’d recommend ordering medium or large.

If you love Thai-style noodles with deep, clean broth and bold pork flavor, this place is a must. I always find myself coming back to Rung Reung and I’ll definitely keep...
