You know that moment when Instagram keeps pushing the same trendy place on your feed, over and over, until you finally think, “Okay, maybe it’s worth a visit”? Yeah… I fell for it. Never again.
First red flag? You don’t even get to step inside without dropping 500฿ upfront — and not before going through a full-on body search at the entrance. Like, seriously? I came for a drink, not to board an international flight.
And what does that 500฿ actually get you? One sad drink from a “selection” of basic spirits, cheap beer, or house wine. You’d think you could at least get a cocktail, but nope — that’ll be an extra 370฿. And guess what? That “included” drink is literally 3cl of generic spirit, buried under ice and soda. Tastes like disappointment with a splash of regret.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get more insulting, they hit you with a service charge — for what? For picking up your drink at the bar yourself and then wandering around aimlessly trying to find a seat — while watching tables get hijacked by people who’ve been nursing the same glass for an hour, glued to their phones.
Then there’s the “Italian” menu — which feels weirdly out of place when half the crowd is either loud businessmen or groups of Indian uncles deep in conversation, and every other table is occupied by girls dressed for an IG shoot, holding mirrors instead of menus. I mean… are we in a bar, a beauty salon, or a wedding planner’s pre-meeting?
Look, this isn’t about being picky — this is about a place with confused priorities: average drinks, poor value, chaotic crowd, and zero logic in how they treat paying guests. You want to spend on bottles and cocktails? Doesn’t matter. You’re standing. But if you came to scroll Instagram and reapply lipstick? Here’s a seat, madam.
There are dozens of better spots in Bangkok where
Then only after you find out this is same ownership of Havana Social, the place who ask you 15,000 b for a table for 4 pax on sat night and at same time keep filling up the place at the limit u can’t even walk anymore inside and after spent that many u still need to be lucky if u can get a waiter to serve you because of the...
Read morethis place exceeded my expectations tbh, have been to a lot of highly rated bars in bangkok that have had little to no atmosphere and have been dead during peak weekend hours.
Paid 500 baht entry which included a free drink, thought it would be a selection of cheap beers and shots (like many places) but they actually offered a decent selection of cocktails plus glasses of wine, rose and sparkling wine (rose by glass is very uncommon in BKK so kudos for this 👍). We sat at the bar and the waiting staff were friendly and efficient, also ordered 2 of the signature cocktails which were great. Drinks are a bit on the pricier side (signature cocktails around 400 and classics 300-400), but no different from any other higher end bar in BKK.
The venue itself has a nice interior, dj was also decent and the toilets were clean. Would...
Read moreUpdate: Way too much friction at the bar. Can’t get a drink easily. They insist on digital payment, but the Thai banks and credit card systems don’t work well, so I have to try to pay for each drink like 3 times. I just want a drink …. Don’t make me type in abcd.xy every time I want to scan, only to have the scan fail and then make your employee type in abcd.xy into the EDC to try my card only to have my card fail…
Please please please just make your pricing tax and service inclusive and accept cash payments … not sure why you’re trying to die on the hill of digital payments in Thailand. Will consider coming back, but it’s pretty tiring
Original: This place rocks. Great atmosphere. Very good for mingling. Generally good DJs and plenty of room to groove. Big smoking area with lots of seating and table space. Definitely a new...
