Accessibility: Located at the heart of the Sukhumvit area, it is accessible to both public and private transport. A direct bridge from the Sukhumvit walkway is connected to the lobby floor of the hotel. So it is easy for tourist access public transport or just walk around the area.
Parking: The hotel got ample space for parking of customers.
Ambience: Classy and relaxing. The hotel lobby is located at 2nd level. You will be greeted with intricately designed wall decors. The dark brown hues give that luxurious ambience, and the wall dividers exudes Thai character. The whole lobby was highlighted with tropical plants and flowers. The lighting complements the over-all relaxing ambience of the place. The orchid café across the hall has the festive look and blending well with the whole lobby.
Room: Spacious. The room I was in was a twin room, it has two double beds. Carpeted floors with subtle scent. The beds and pillows are all clean and soft and comfy to sleep in. The room comes with a study table and a comfortable couch. The restroom has a shower and bathtub, easy to use water faucets for controlling water temperature. Water pressure is just right. They also provided complete toiletries (shower cap, shower gel, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, cotton, and shaving set.) Scents of lotion is good, had a hair dryer and complete set of large towels, hand towels, bath robe and rags provided. The toilet seat has bidet. The hotel’s mini pantry has complimentary coffee and tea, with water heater and coffee maker. They are generous with complimentary water, so I stayed hydrated the whole duration of my stay. The mini pantry offers various beverages and snack items, and the price are accessed through a QR code in the welcome card. Free fruits are given on my first day of stay. The room comes with a walk-in closet complete with a clothes hanger, ironing set and a safe. The ambience of the whole room is easy to control with easy-to-use air conditioner’s buttons and lighting controls.
Food: Breakfast is served at Orchid Café, buffet style. I love their pulpy orange juice. They have a salad bar, a bakery for confectionaries and bread. Several dishes are offered which is different every day and has veggie and meat dishes. They have wide array of dishes, both western and eastern cuisines. All are flavorful. They have options for chicken, pork, beef and fish. You can also for a customized soup and can ask for any style of egg dish for breakfast which is cooked right in front of you. Fresh fruits are also available. Japanese dish like cold soba is also available. During my stay, I usually eat around 7am, but on my last day, I woke up late and the café got full during late morning (9am) and I must follow the queue – not a problem though, I enjoyed the buffet breakfast the whole time.
The hotel also has a tropical themed swimming pool, which you can relax until 8PM. A health and wellness SPA is also available – unfortunately was not able to experience it.
Service and Staff: I checked in during a busy afternoon, the staff are fast-moving, they accommodated and finished my check-in smoothly. The cleaning lady on my floor is courteous and friendly. The staff at orchid café are efficient and...
Read moreBecause of my job, I spend 2 to 3 months a year staying at hotels around the world. In Bangkok, I usually stick to classic hotels that I know and trust. But this time, for a special anniversary, I followed the suggestion of my partner of 12 years and stayed at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for the first time — and simply put, it was amazing.||The room had a classic charm with a touch of elegance, and the Chiang Mai tiles in the bathroom added a nice storytelling element. The blue-tiled pool was surrounded by greenery, giving it both a natural and private feel. Even when I had to open my laptop during vacation (ugh), the calm vibe of The Library made it bearable. The evening cocktail hour at The Living Room was perfect, with live piano music and rotating snacks from the hotel’s restaurants. You could even enjoy it by the pool at The Sala, which was a great option.||The fitness center was quiet and cozy, with a good balance of machines and free weights. Everything was well-maintained, so it didn’t feel old at all. The trainers were always around and happy to help. Honestly, the only thing I wished for was a squat rack. The changing room also had a great jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room — I might’ve spent more time there than in my actual room.||If I had to point out one downside of this hotel... it’s that the staff are all so incredibly kind, it’s hard to thank just a few. Still, I want to give special thanks to these three amazing people:||Mr. Jonghyeon – Thank you so much for taking care of us from check-in to check-out. You even considered our departure plans in Bangkok, which helped make the entire anniversary experience smooth and happy. It’s not because we share the same nationality or language — I’ve stayed at hotels around the world for over 15 years, and I’ve never met a front desk staff member as thoughtful and considerate as you. Also, thank you for always helping me with new room keys whenever I left mine behind… which was basically every day. 😅||Mr. Krittin – I really appreciated all your support at the fitness center. You helped me load plates for deadlifts and bench press, cheered me on during squats (I finished that set thanks to your thumbs-up!👍), and always checked in to see if I needed anything. I honestly felt like I had a great gym buddy instead of just working out alone. Please teach me the secret behind your awesome arms next time — I’d love to train with you when I come back!||Mr. Veerapat – Thank you for always taking care of our table during evening cocktails at The Living Room. As heavy eaters and drinkers, we often wondered if we were going through too much sparkling wine and canapes... but every time we hesitated, you were already there like a guardian angel, making sure we were taken care of. 😄 Because of you, this big human had the happiest evenings every single day. Please take care of our table again...
Read moreWhere to start? This is one of the top three hotels at which I've stayed (along with Pavilion Bukit Bintang and Eastern and Oriental).||The foyer is epic. Monumental slabs of rock with water features. ||We chose this hotel primarily because of the location and the pool. It's a hectic part of Bangkok, it's hot and dirty and NOISY outside. The lush vegetated pool area is a literal oasis away from it all, but only 5 minutes away when you're up for some fun again. The pool side dining is pretty good, not outstanding, the pool side drinks are great. ||It wasn't super clear but you could take the club evening canapes and drinks by the pool of you felt like a change from the lounge and library (both of which are beautiful).||Fanciest gym I've ever used. The aroma of essential oil in the hall to the pool, gym and spa was intoxicating, cleansing, calming and invigorating.||The rooms are a bit dated but not in a bad way. Soft trimmings a little worn but everything is of very good quality, at least in the club suite we had. Universal Power points were a plus. Even better, it was a HUGE room with two huge bathrooms.||The build is probably from the 80s, overall feels similar to the original big hotels at Marina Bay. Not glassy, shiny, and flashy, more concrete than glass. I like these hotels. Real estate was cheaper back then. Rooms are bigger and they have proper pools.||While the physical hotel is outstanding, it was the world class personal service that made it feel so luxurious. ||The breakfast buffet is truly epic. Up there with Pavilion Bukit Bintang and Eastern and Oriental. The reviews we read don't reflect this.||We requested a room on a high floor with a view of the park and got it. Part of the club/executive package was |perfect iced teas delivered to the room any time, 24/7. And coffees. And soft drinks.||But there's more. My 10yo was stung by a bee at the pool. Jedsada stepped up with his first aid kit, removed the sting. When we returned to the room that night there was a letter expressing condolences for the sting and a selection of treats for all of us. Then, on the last morning, there was a soft elephant on our child's pillow embroidered with their name! Unbelievable. You can be sure Yim Yim the elephant accompanied us for the rest of the holiday and now resides in Perth. Thank you Jedsada.||I lost an earbud the night before we left. I then received several emails as we travelled across Thailand checking which address to send the earbud to, which the cleaners found after we checked out. It was delivered a couple of hotels later, none of which were as good as the Sheraton. Many thanks to Famanee and her team.||We'll be staying at Sheratons...
