So this was a late night sort of sobering up meal! 🍽️ A friend of mine has been going here since 1992 it was kind of depressing actually I mean the place is nice but I mean nobody smiles nobody greets you it’s just basically come sit order and eat and leave ! So that’s why he brought me here he said you gotta try it but I don’t know I just did not find the food appealing and the service was very depressing no hello hi no smiles no nothing and we are in the land of smiles!!
The lamb 🐑 chops we got the way they were plated was very unappealing ! Although they tasted good they were on like a bit of cabbage or something! We ate like hungry bears 🐻!
The hummus was also mediocre nothing to write home about but the pickles were good which is a one good thing about these Arab restaurants to make great pickles 🥒 ! I loved the chutney that was served and the lamb kebabs came out also looking like they were taken off someone else’s plate and put on our plate !
As you can see in the photos you’ll see what I mean !
Anyway if you’re in the area this is in Nana I don’t know they’re open quite late for the after bar crowd that wants to come and kind of sober up by eating good food !

Read moreThe food tastes good, they tend to bring it very fast though like you're supposed to eat quick and leave...surprisingly the "tom yam kung" is the best i ever had although its a middle eastern specialty restaurant. I also had a mixed grill which was good and a hummus that wasn't great. Nan bread was ok. Overall if you're going for food and food only, its a good place no hesitation. But the place has 1 big problem: the child rapist look-alike with the coca cola bottle bottom thick vision glasses who is the room manager or thinks he is, a manager who looks like he escaped from the saddam hussein regime where he was in charge of torturing people. He does not belong in the service industry, he is rude, wears flip flops, eats while standing up in front of you then plays with a toothpick in his mouth. Seriously guys, this is no joke. The restaurant was empty and he literally told me not to sit in the table of 4 i went to occupy and pointed at a table for 2. I confronted him and he got the message....
Read moreOur quest to continue different Middle Eastern restaurants in the Sukhumvit area continues. This time, we decided to try Shahrzad. The facade is quite simple, and the front of the restaurant is has Nan bread making station. Interior is basic functional. They have plenty of service staff and one gets the impression of being watched. Food was pretty good. We tried kebabs, lamb and chicken soup, a minced lamb - egg plant dish with salad and Nan. The staff suggested a special dish - rice and minced lamb cooked and wrapped in grape leaves. It was the highlight of the dinner. Food...
