🌟 Review: NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard – Spacious Comfort, But Shocking Privacy Lapse Stay: Family Trip (May 15–17, 2025) Guest: Neeraj Singla & Family
We chose NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard for our final two nights in Thailand. While there are many positives about the property, a major incident concerning our room privacy was extremely disappointing.
✅ Highlights of Our Stay: Room Upgrade Accepted: Our request was gladly considered. We were upgraded to a more spacious room with a bathtub, perfect for families.
Baby-Friendly: A baby cot was happily arranged, which was a big relief traveling with an infant.
Smart TV: One of the few hotels during our trip that offered a smart TV. Our child enjoyed his cartoons on YouTube without any hassle.
Wi-Fi: The internet connection was strong and fast.
Food Options: We really appreciated the availability of familiar dishes like roti and biryani. The hotel caters significantly to Arabic and Muslim guests (who make up about 90% of the clientele), so the food has a lot of overlap with Indian cuisine, which worked out great for us.
Location: Centrally located, close to malls, restaurants, and public transport. Do note, however, that it is very close to Nana Plaza, a red-light area — something families with children should be aware of.
Hospitality at Check-In: The welcome was pleasant. They did, however, collect a security deposit of 2,000 Baht.
❌ Major Concern – Privacy Breach: What truly shocked us was discovering that our room had been cleaned without our permission.
We did not request housekeeping either verbally or via any signage, and we were out with all our belongings — including important items. When I reported this, the receptionist dismissed it casually, saying:
“This is a normal 5-star hotel service.”
This is NOT acceptable. Unauthorized room entry without any form of consent is a serious breach of privacy. We were deeply anxious about our valuables, and I genuinely considered filing a formal or even criminal complaint.
🏊 Other Observations: Pool Area: Unfortunately, we didn’t get to use the pool, so can’t comment.
Welcome Drink: Not offered — a refreshing drink after a long journey would’ve been appreciated.
🧾 Final Verdict: This hotel gets many things right: upgraded rooms, baby-friendly services, smart amenities, great food — especially for Indian/Arabic guests — and reliable Wi-Fi. But a shocking disregard for guest privacy turned what could have been a perfect stay into a stressful experience.
📌 Recommendation: Only stay here if you explicitly clarify your housekeeping preferences at check-in and use the “Do Not Disturb” sign religiously. Families should also be mindful of the hotel's location near nightlife zones.

Read moreWe stayed on July 5-8, four rooms for three nights. On July 7 evening, 23:10, I found dozens of flying ants on my beds, so I called the housekeeping. A man came and check our balcony door which is tightly closed. And he called his supervisor up, they talked in Thai which I don't understand. But refer to his hand spray moves, I guess he asks the man to spray, then he gone without a word to me. Of course, I'm not sure, so I wait until the man really come back with a insecticide spray!!! He ask me go out awhile and he can sprays. I stopped him immediately, since this is a connecting rooms (815 & 816), and my 6 months old baby boy is right next door. And this is insane to spray insecticide spray onto bed and pillows and ask me to sleep after, it is poison! with dozens of flying ants in the room with tightly closed door, of course there is a hygiene issue of the room. With Amari hotel group, I have no idea how come they handle it with poisoning the guests. The man gone and I call lobby for the hotel manager or someone in charge that night, well they told me "no manager tonight and nobody in charged". That really surprises a hotel without manager or someone in charged. I told her it is an important hygiene issue here and we need to solve it now, they cannot keep us stay in the room with so many flying ants around us. End up they send that supervisor up again, we asked him does he knows insecticide spray is poison which harm for health? he keeps silence. At the end, they arrange room 1410 for us. By the time, it is already passed midnight, and we agreed to move up there for just sleeping, our luggages still keep in 815 since we will check out next day early in the morning. And he promised he won't spray the room to poison my baby son who stay in room 816. On the last picture, this is the email reply from hotel manager Alexandre, first thing, he wasn't there in hotel that night. Second, what make him assume we left the balcony door open? without an evidence, it is libel. On the other hands, we have pictures and videos of all those flying ants in our rooms. Of course, picture of house keeper holding the insecticide spray! Third, the issue is happened on July 7, 23:10, not July 8, 04:00. Obviously, someone is hiding the truth. Finally, yes you provide the solution but that not a good one. Do we paid for a room with flying ants? The alternative room is too far away, I only slept 5 hours that night, and rush down to see my baby at 0600!
Refund or upgrade for future visit is not what we need. Being hotel in the Amari groups, it was a shame to have this kind of hygiene issue and handling method, this is insane to poison...
Read moreThis hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in. Booked a limousine at 1500 baht from airport. It was 30 minutes late. Complained to reception who said I waited at wrong exit. Explained a guy had a sign with my name on it and she changed the excuse to road closure due to accident. Liar. Room was so old and dated and AC was faulty. Moved to another room on day 2 only to find a used condom in waste bin. Filthy place, stained carpets. Tried to open blinds but they fell off. Plus point was breakfast, it was good. Not enough staff and they struggled to clear tables and keep up with service but not their fault. Horrible hotel and I will never ever stay there again. Good when it was Amari but now its 2 star at best. Millions of better cheaper options in the area.
Have since emailed hotel asking for managers email so I could voice my opinion and tell them how bad my stay was. No reply, says it all I think.
THANK YOU FOR THE REPLY. I ASKED FOR YOUR EMAIL SO I COULD EMAIL DIRECTLY BUT NO ONE HAD THE DECENCY TO EVEN REPLY. OK. LETS EXPLAIN FURTHER. I BOOKED 3 NIGHTS AND LIMOUSINE FROM AIRPORT AT OVER 13000 BAHT. I THOUGHT A CAR WOULD BE THERE TO MEET US SO I WOULD NOT NEED TO BOTHER WITH QUEUING FOR A METERED TAXI. THE MAN WAS THERE WITH A BOARD AND MY NAME ON IT. HE SAID WAIT 5 MINUTES AND WAS VERY PLEASANT. EVENTUALLY THE CAR ARRIVED AFTER I HAD WAITED 30 MINUTES. IF I HAD TAKEN A METERED TAXI I WOULD HAVE ALREADY ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL IN THIS TIME AND WOULD HAVE PAID A FEW HUNDRED BAHT. WHEN I TOLD RECEPTION THE NEXT DAY THEY TRIED TO SAY THE DRIVER WAS NOT LATE BUT WAITING FOR ME BUT I WAS AT THE WRONG EXIT. HMMM. I EXPLAINED THAT I MET THE MAN HOLDING A SIGN WITH MY NAME ON IT. SHE THEN CHANGED HER STORY AND SAID BECAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT THE ROAD WAS CLOSED AND THATS WHY THE DRIVER WAS LATE. QUITE CLEARLY TELLING LIES. I CANNOT ACCEPT PEOPLE TELLING ME LIES LIKE THIS. I FIND USED CONDOM IN THE WASTE PAPER BIN. NO OFFER OF A COMPLMENTARY CAR BACK TO AIRPORT FOR THE FAILURE TO PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE? COMPLIMENTARY DRINK IN THE BAR OR REDUCTION IN PRICE? NADA,...
