My girlfriend and myself were strolling down the street looking for something to eat when I spotted Slanted Taco. Mexican food sounded good to both of us so we went in to take a look.
We took a seat and menus were brought to our table. My girlfriend picked the Chicken Burrito plate which comes with Rice and Beans. I decided on the 3 Taco plate with 3 Pork Carnitas Tacos with Rice and Beans. We also ordered a plate of Cheese Nachos to share.
The interior is very cool with metal and wood on the walls and one wall covered with a mural with what appears to be a Mayan warrior holding a taco.
The Nachos arrived first, they looked good and they tasted good too! By the time we were finishing up the Nachos the main courses arrived. These also looked good.
We both enjoyed our meals although we both thought the the rice was a little dry and undercooked. Other than the rice everything was great including the service.

Read moreOk. First off. I'm a Texican... Half Texan...Half Mexican. DO NOT TRUST REVIEWS BY idiots NOT from Texas or Mexico about the authenticity. La comida es increíble! For those of you not fluent in Espanol... The Food is INCREDIBLE. While not perfect...its pretty damn close to Mi Abulita's.... One reviewer with what appears to be an Indian Subcontinent name compared the tacos to "pancakes"....sorry they weren't McDonald's fake Mexican shite... Another with an obviously French last name also criticized the authenticity of the food. Well...I'm from Texico...I have family in Tamapulinas, And my wife's family is from Oaxaca. This is the best tasting and most authentic Mexican Food in the city. Trust Me. I was raised on this type of food. Ignore the idiots with no real taste or experience giving one star reviews. I mean would you trust a Chinese guy to accurately rate "Authentic French Food" or a real...
Read moreI was impressed with the quality of the food served at the Slanted Taco! The deco of the place was rustic and urban with accents of Lucha Libre and their catchy names of characters accompanied by fast paced latin music.
Roast Chicken taco was juicy and had a little spice to it whereas the Pork Carnitas taco had that crispy crust and tender meat which hits the spot. I love that they hand make their masa harina tortilla hence it being close to authentic. Rice and Refried beans were pretty well done as they weren't too dry. Tortilla chips were well salted and very fresh as they fry up batches as you order hence it's got that crunch!
I visited on a slow tuesday afternoon hence the service by staff was very meticulous. I had thoroughly enjoyed my time, would totally give this place another go...
