Overall the Hotel is nice but not meeting a 5 star standard to me!From the appearance it has a luxurious or high quality feeling to you.However, a lot of defects can be found in details.I checked-in to the Room 1901, first thing I smell in the floor is full of irritating thinner smell. I asked the stuff for this, they told me they have painted some wall on that floor today, so they want to renovate a bit, but still rent that floor to people.Inside the room, first thing caught my attention was the silicone edge in the shower room is molded, the shower head is extremely old with all black edge in the holes.Toilet paper holder was not installed properly, it is very loose in the joint.The floor blank is not even, seems like damaged by water for a while ago.Through out the first day, I continuously noticed and heard loud noise came from the TV wall, and the whole wall is shaking.Went outside to investigate myself, the building construction was designed to have a trash tunnel from top to ground for their convenience to throw certain items.And that tunnel is right behind this TV wall, so every morning to afternoon, they suppose to use it and causes this unavoidable noise.And the 2nd day afternoon I noticed a smelly odor came from the bathroom drain.After my request, they arranged a new room in 2702.However, the defective setup is pretty much the same, including the floor, silicone, and toilet paper holder.Swimming Pool only able to fit to 3 -4 people to lay to sunbath, and 2 bar chairs in the side, 1 more bigger normal chair with coffee table.Imagine if they have 200 rooms, (should be more), it has only 5 % of clients can be in the pool at the same time.Lift, 2nd day morning I was stuck in the Lift for about 5 mins. The lift started to stuck in a floor, no matter what i click it does not go up and down.At the end I pressed the bell, a voice told me to wait for it, it will go up first and go back to the ground floor.It did happen, but no anyone comes to explain to me to say sorry as a 5-star hotel. (Does it means they knew this happen usually?)Also the waiting time is long.Restaurant has a nice view to see Bangkok, everything looks clean, however as a 5-star hotel the food option is the worst in my experience in bangkok over the last 5 years. It has Juice, water, salads, 2 options of cold cut, 1 sausages, fresh cooked eggs/omelet, fresh cooked noodles, some potato stuffs, fried rice / noodles. Pretty standard but no surprise, I was expected a bit more if it is a 5-star.Advice to you who wants to book:I will not book this again, the same price or much lower can have much better quality in most of the aspects.Only prefect thing in this hotel is the location next to the BTS. If you a perfectionism do not make yourself suffer! Honest advice to the hotel:A 5-star hotel requires nice presentation. 1)I booked the executive room of continental at agoda and paid, when I reached, my booking was canceled by hotel. I book again but price increased. Although is not fare, but I still done the booking since I'm already here.
2)i was so tired, I just thought that can check in quickly and have a good rest, I went to the reception and check in, the receptionist talk to me polite me and help me to check my booking. But it is not in their system but I had already received the confirmation letter from agoda, she called management to find out and asked me to wait for 30min, she said the room not ready and it is already 2:30pm, check in time is 2pm. I have to leave my begs at reception and go for some food.

Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for the last night of our visit to Bangkok. Unfortunately it was not a good experience for us. The check-in process went smoothly, but the 1st thing I noticed was one of the two main elevators was out of order. They were using a service elevator as a backup, but it was located off to the side of the lobby elevators. Needless to say using the elevators whether going up or down was cumbersome and a slow process.||The real fun began when my wife and I settled in for the evening. I took a shower and upon exiting the shower I immediately saw that the bathroom floor outside of the shower was completely covered in soapy foam water. I found that the source was a bathroom drain located under the sink. It totally overflowed all over bathroom floor. My wife and I were totally shocked as this has never happened to us before. ||I decided to take pictures of the mess and report this to the front desk clerk in person. As they say “a picture is worth a thousand words!” It was around 11:00pm. When I reported our incident to the young front desk clerk and showed her the pictures of what happened she seemingly didn’t know how to respond. She immediately said there were no other rooms available…I told her that they needed to do something at least have someone check it out and clean it up. She said she would have someone check it out. About 20 minutes later a male worker responded. He had a small bucket with a few rags. After he surveyed the bathroom he realized that he was going to need more than a few rags saying that he would be back. Another 10 minutes later he returned with an armful of towels. By now it was midnight and another 10 minutes went by before all of the foam water was wiped up. He didn’t really say anything or offer any explanation but he was polite during our encounter. ||The next morning when we turned on the TV it was literally on the blink. I had to turn it off and on a couple of times before I could get a picture. The breakfast buffet was decent so at least we had one positive experience.
