Had a lovely afternoon tea experience at The Lobby, Peninsula Bangkok.

First of all, I have to compliment the staff. They were all incredibly attentive and service-minded. The service throughout the afternoon was truly flawless.

Now onto the food. The welcome drink was fantastic and super refreshing. The savoury selection was both interesting and beautifully crafted, as you can probably tell from the photos. Even the complimentary dessert was presented with care. The sweets were also enjoyable, though I’m not usually a sweet tooth.

And the atmosphere, Sitting in a grand, classic-style lobby overlooking the Chao Phraya River is really something special. The vibe was calm and relaxing, with no crowds or busy energy. The live piano music added a lovely touch.

I really wanted to sit outdoors to enjoy the atmosphere, but unfortunately, it’s near the smoking area, so the staff kindly advised against it. Service was impeccable, as expected from a 5-star hotel. The staff explained the menu thoroughly and made the experience even more enjoyable. The taste and variety of the afternoon tea are among the best in Bangkok. Each piece of pastry and dessert is thoughtfully crafted with great attention to detail.

Plush, tasteful, comfortable, delicious food and amazingly friendly courteous and professional staff. These are the attributes of a truly 5 star hotel. We had a wonderful experience enjoying afternoon tea in sumptuous surroundings and couldn’t have been looked after better by the superb staff. Yes, it’s a little more expensive than other establishments but based on our experience, truly worth the extra.
