First of all, the food is good. The complimentary chocolate cake was probably the best cake I ever had. However, it was simply way too dark. We saw other customers struggling to even read the menu as there were almost no light. It was also extremely hot. We knew we didn’t like the heat so we asked if fans were possible prior our visit and the staff told us multiple fans will be provided. Upon our arrival we were there is only one fan in the entire restaurant and that fan is currently occupied by another table so we sat through the heat our entire meal. I know that Thiptara can not control the weather but we were promised “multiple fans” and there was only one in the entire restaurant?
To make it worse, there were mosquitoes and fruit flies. We saw on a blog that Thiptara uses essence to keep away bugs but when we were there we didn’t smell anything. By the end of the night we were constantly shaking our legs to keep the mosquitoes away and one fruit fly even flew into our meal.

Thiptara is what I would define the epitome of the Authentic Thai cuisine.

The selection of dishes we order was on point, starting with the mango salad, spicy as we like, my very first crab curry (which I’ll definitely won’t forget) , the beef and the dessert, Red Ruby Water Chestnut Dumpling with Young Coconut Sauce, recommended to us by Biw which was refreshing and delicious.
We also had the immense pleasure to meet the chef and personally thank for the opportunity to try her delicious food!
We will definitely be...

Picked this place due to it apparently being one of these (michelin guide) recommended spots for authentic Thai food cooked very well in great surroundings but, it was for the price a little underwhelming compared to what I had been eating around the city all day. We ordered the Thiptara set at 2,000THB per person and it was good but not great, you can tell there weas some good care and technique but when the mains came it was harder to make the case that this place was well worth thr specific trip here. If I was in town again, I would miss this spot. Maybe I picked the wrong menu choice but I walked about a little...
