We booked for lunch on Eatigo deal for 50% off for lunch set( infact Eatigo said it’s dimsum buffet). There are three sets for selection, vary my main dishes and dessert. The set consist of amuse bouche, appetizer, soup of the day, main dish and dessert. Total of the set is 590++ thb.
Amuse bouche is a small shrimp shumai, which is good both taste and texture. The complementary chili sauce also great. Then we have five pieces of assorted dumplings which is still great per the standard of the restaurant in five star hotel. However, the soup and main dishes are way too much off standard.
The soup was too oily and dull, no fragrant of the broth and it’s very bland. The fried rice with shrimp and scallop are tasteless, dry but still oily the smell of dried scallop are gone. Thought, the riced are well cooked and fired by wok but again it’s deab. Stir fried beef noodles is fiasco. None of the wok and fire smell from the noodles, only ginger and fried bean sprouts that I can smell. Beef are not well marinated as it’s too chewy and strench.
We thought may be it’s because of the deal, so it’s dropped from the expected quality. But still it’s really...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place, but it was sadly underwhelming.
We ordered the set menu and a bottle of wine.
The food was quite lackluster. Really nothing compelling or interesting in the multiple courses. Adding to the mix, the food was generally lukewarm at best. The servers were obviously impeccable, but as they cleared each course, the next would be slid in front of us in under 20 seconds. I appeared that they were pre-positioning our next course as we were eating, leaving the food to sit at room temperature while we dined. It felt very rushed and the below temperature food was even worse
Outside that, the power went out in the dining room (but oddly not in an adjacent room). They were so apologetic and brought candles and made it lovely (we stopped in The Bar after dinner for a cocktail, and the power went out there too for a few minutes). It was strange, but the staff managed it admirably.
Unless the restaurant radically reimagines their food and processes, I would not recommend eating here. It’s was a bit of a C level meal at A...
Read moreThe sweet and sour pork was absolutely delicious and had an authentic flavour, perfectly balancing the tangy and savoury notes. The wonton noodle soup was also enjoyable, with the wontons being exceptionally soft and well-prepared.
The service was generally friendly, but there were some missteps. The staff forgot our drinks order, and we had to remind them before it was finally served—right at the end of our meal. This was particularly inconvenient since the chili was quite spicy, and we had to rely on our own water in the meantime.
On a positive note, they offered a complimentary starter, and at the end of the meal, they gave us two fresh oranges, which was a nice touch. However, due to the oversight in service and the late arrival of our drinks, we can only give this place four stars. With a little more attention to order accuracy, this restaurant could easily provide a flawless...
