We came for food here and rated it a 7/10 for food and a 3/10 for value for money. The sides on the plate are pre dished up and left under a light so are stale. The steak was rare although asked for medium/rare but good meat so I enjoyed it. The beef bourguignon was 7/10 for flavour and the meat was tender. The dauphinoise potatoes were well made and well flavoured but extra money when the food is already very expensive for AoNang. The chips/fries were cooked when the fat wasn’t hot enough so were soggy and the portion was small. The wine was great but very expensive for Thailand around £13 for what is a large glass in the UK, they serve wine here in 120ml measures. Also not many ‘by the glass’ options and the owner would not let us try the only 2 by the glass options for red and explained if he did that he would lose money. Laughable really for a sip. He doesn’t care enough about making sure the customer has the best experience and gets value for money and chooses the best wine for them.
On the comments below. The red wine is 150ml which definitely isn’t international standard. The white wine is 120ml and there is one on your menu for 300 Baht at 60ml.
Yes we enjoyed the food and...
Read moreVery nice place!! A little bit hidden but for sure better food than at CRU. We were there for dessert the night we had dinner at CRU (I had two desserts then) and were very curious for the croissants. 🥐 We came back the next day for lunch for the croissants and I also had a baguette. My husband had a baguette with Brie and the Brie tasted phenomenal. I had the home made pineapple jam, at first I thought I tasted soap but I started to like the flavor after a while. They have really good and strong coffee and their matcha 🍵 is also on point!!
The first day when we had the lemon meringue pie the chef came out to ask us if we’d like the food, for us a sign he really loves making the food.
So far the best lemon meringue in my life! The meringue was just perfect fluffy but firm and the lemon part not to sour or sweet. Very hard to reach that level!!
The croissant was the best we had in Thailand and we had a lot of croissants so far. I really enjoyed the baguette because it was my first ‘normal fresh artisan bread’ since leaving Europe over a month ago. If you’re doubting please go here for lunch of dessert!! We didn’t try the dinner unfortunately, but I am sure...
Read moreCame for dinner with my wife and was very happily impressed. She’s been telling me that we need to eat here based on the reviews but I was skeptical. On arrival I ordered an ice coffee which was very good. We then had mussels in snail butter, which was so good we requested some fresh French bread to eat the sauce with, which was spectacular. Main course was the much raved about duck, which didn’t disappoint, perfectly cooked and the sauce was a great balance that perfectly complimented the flavor and tenderness of the duck. Accompanied with mushroom and some veg and French fries. Their desert selection indeed looked every bit French and so we shared a mango Tatin which was delicious. Service from the owner or manager was excellent and our compliments to the chef, both French and lovely along with the local staff. Absolutely everything we had expected and totally worthy of a five star review. This is a must visit in AoNang. We will...
