Previously, I gave this restaurant 1 star because they treated Thai and foreign customers SO UNEQUALLY. Today, I was confronted by a daughter of the owner of the restaurant. She asked me whether it was me who gave them 1 star, and I said yes. Then she proceeded to show my reviews about other places and restaurants, which was completely irrelevant to what she confronted me about. Anyway, instead of explaning to me and apologizing me for giving a terrible service, she ORDERED me to delete the review and she took a picture of me for nonsense reason. And we argued for about 5 minutes. I'm totally sorry for her father because he's so nice to me. Again, I published this review because I don't know why I should delete this honest review and I don't want to. No one should experience this situation like I did. She can't even give me a reason. All she did was yell, yell, and yell.
Also, there's a dead bug in my plate. After what happened today, you guys really deserve a 1 star for being extremely aggressive and ignorant...
Read moreWriting review for small independent family run streetfood restaurants is always s bit difficult. Prices are low, hygienic was good and it a cosy and a very friendly space to sit. So much of a critic can one be if the food is plain tasting? You had your cheap eat and call it a day. Unfortunately you can very good food in thailand for these prices. The yellow chicken curry lacked depth in flavour. I don't even know what made it yellow looking. A normal curry should at least be a bit spicey from the hebs and chillies being used in the paste. This was not the case and adding chillies myseld did not have the desired effect I was hoping for. The did not have that murderous spiceyness they have here in Thailand. The dish from my partner came when mine was finnished. I know they cannot service one table at a time. But the neighbors clearly ordered after us, had their food first. Disappointing...
Read moreCame here to have lunch and our first meal in Thailand since it had great reviews and it’s very close to our hotel (D2). I was blown away the moment I tasted the Panang curry. We also had shrimp tempura and Pad Thai, who was amazingly complex and delicious. Big portions, we chose the medium option and we were more than full at the end. Very cheap as well, it’s a family business that I’m more than glad to return to tomorrow. You won’t miss it passing by it as the very cute lady cooking all the dishes invites you to come in. Come here, you won’t regret it. (Bring cash)
Edit: at the end of my Thailand trip after one week of being at Markintiny and it was still the best place I ate in the country. Can’t...
